A few ideas for Bethesda for TES VI

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 7:55 am

First let me say, I think Skyrim is absolutely amazing. The best game I've ever played. That said, there are a few areas I felt they could have expanded upon to add even more content to a game that already has a ridiculous amount of content. But these ideas would probably be cool to see. Here we go:

1. You should be able to interact with Dremoras and Dremora Lords. The lore for this makes sense. It would be so interesting to pick the brain of a Dremora and just interact with them in some way. I would love to see a quest open up after a Dremora gives you a hint of where to find an item of tremendous power.

Also, if you've read the book in Skyrim called "A Tragedy in Black", it tells the story of how a Dremora tricked a young boy who summoned him into accepting a gift of a soul gem, and in turn accepting a gift from a summoned Daedra breaks the bond of the summon, so the Dremora then turned on his summoner and killed the boy. I was so hoping that when I summoned my first Dremora it would offer me a soul gem as a gift, but it didn't. I felt they missed a small opportunity there.

2. Marriage should open up new quest content. I would have loved to see some sort of new quests open up for being married. Maybe a courier visits you and tells you you should visit a certain area with your new wife, which then turns into a quest of some sort. It would have been cool to see more content open up from marriage.

3. No one comments on my Daedric armor! This was a big oversight I think. People should be scared of someone wearing a full Daedric set, or at least cautious of them. They should say things like, "get away from me, Daedra worshipper!", or guards would comment in some way at least on how crazy it is to see someone in a full Daedric set. I'm not sure why that isn't already in the game, but it needs to be for TES VI.

4. Ability to join the Vigilants of Stendarr. Not sure if they will have a presence in whatever province TES VI takes place in, but if they are around, it would be great to open up a nice little quest chain that involves wiping out Daedra and Daedra worshippers. I was hoping you could join them in Skyrim, but nothing.

These are just some small areas where I feel they can improve in the next game. Any ideas of your own? Post them in this thread.

Thoughts/comments?

You would be better off keeping these thoughts to yourself. They will never be implemented or even heard. In fact, they probably move or lock this topic...god forbid anyone make a constructive criticism of the game...

Well I'm hoping some developer from Bethesda reads the forums, and gets some inspiration from these ideas. Hey you never know. :)

Forum threads? To a small extent, yes. I'm almost certain not all employees at Bethesda avoids the forums

On the other hand, it's my personal opinion that modders are more of an influence when it comes to content suggestions in future titles. Because it's pretty obvious that Skyrim was inspired by a few of the more popular Oblivion mods.

Bethesda has a solid track record of taking anything too awesome out of the game. Let alone anything that is not in game....
