A few ideas for character creation.

I think I've seen that they've gotten character creation down for FOOL but I had a few thoughts that I think would be kinda cool.

So we know that two of the playable races are Humans and Ghouls so far. Why not do something somewhat like DragonAge (it's the first game that comes to mind that does this) did but expand it a bit more. When choosing your race you pick a "starting place" and this dictates your starting skills.

Example would be say I were to pick a human. After choosing such you could pick whether your origin is from a Vault or born in the wastes. Being born and raised in the wastes would maybe give a bonus to Survival skill and a few other things that would be in a "wastelander" origin starter pack versus someone born in a Vault who would have a bonus to say maybe Science skill and other things of that sort.

This would bring up different starting areas and possibly different starting "kits" for characters given their origin during character creation. I personally think it would add a layer of "realism" to an extent to character creation since Vault Dwellers wouldn't know initially how to survive out in the wastes as well as a wastelander

Already said, already obvious.

Ghouls don't really like humans, so they make settlements away from them. So they're gunna start apart from each other.

Obviously the Ghouls and Humans will start apart, but what he means is that there will be multiple starting areas for humans, like he said in a vault, or out on the wasteland...

Great idea!

I personally would loe to see this in-game. The only issue would be the balancing issue.

The only balancing that needs to be done is the unbalancing, and then balancing the OP-ness of one race over another.

Where was this said? How could an idea be obvious?
Where did he say anything about ghouls and human settlements?

I personally wouldn't want people to base their character on one type of race because too often would we see a surge of 'ghoul-scientists' just because of their better initial stats. Well I guess we're just a couple of problem solvers

Even though some people might have said something similar before, siwel's post appears to be kinda rude. Image
