A few questions and issues

Post » Mon Jun 18, 2012 12:46 am

Firstly, how do I access scripts? :P

Secondly, while loading worldspaces, like Tamriel or Blackreach, some objects won't load. The CK says "Loading cell" all the time. I can still click on some objects, and they will magically appear, but when I close the Reference box, the object goes invisible again :/

Thirdly, does everyone get a BSOD when loading CK and Skyrim at the same time? Haven't tried it myself yet...

And I'll probably come up with some more questions soon ^^

Also, the controls seemed really bad at first. But now I've tweaked the preferences, and it's starting to get better :D

I get a bunch of errors loading just the Skyrim.esm 'missing parent file' etc. If this just a typical eff up on Beth's part and I can ignore it or is there some other stuff I need to download? like I had to unpack the .bsa files for Oblivion?

What does that have to do with anything? ._.

That's the way it's supposed to be, those are Bethesda ARCHIVED files, not supposed to be available right off the bat for your viewing pleasure...

GrandDukeAdense: Gameplay (on the toolbar) -> Papyrus Script Manager

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with for Skyrim ;)

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with for Skyrim
I will need a few days, or weeks, to get used to the interface/features and to investigate all static/activator/fx objects available in the editor, so that I am sure I use the best assets to create my mods :P
But after that, I will begin working on my mod!

In order to edit the DLC u had to unpack the .bsa files or nothing worked.

I have 7 error messages loading Skyrim.esm, one says 'Masterfile NavmeshInfo (00028e37) has no parent space' and then a bunch of errors with load doors in several cells. And then when I try to add an armor mannequin to my cell is has a bunch more. All I want to do is make a display room for my character's armor collection >.<

Scripts are available in /Data/Scripts/Source, or you can open them via the Creation Kit.

In order to set up a decent development environment, see one of these pages:

Ok, I get these same messages when I start up the ck and I'm just saying "Yes to all" to ignore. This reminds me of something that happened when using the Oblivion construction set. But because of receiving these errors it always made me leary of submitting mods for fear that ignoring the messages might cause what i call a dirty mod. I don't want to submit a mod that causes other users to have problems.

So ... can someone maybe give me a warm fuzzy by letting me know if -A- they get these messages too and -B- IS it safe to ignore these messages?

Thanks!

I hope you are going to be doing a "Papyrus for Dummies" tutorial like you did for Fallout. I am no programmer and all of this stuff is greek to me!

@jamhin4....have a warm fuzzy....yes I had it also!

I might do, but for now the wiki has an excellent http://www.creationkit.com/Category:Papyrus, and seems to have documentation for every native function, including events.

LOL! I think my fuzzy would be even warmer if I knew the B part. ;-) Is it safe to ignore those messages?
