Why now? It's a simple answer. Splash gave up on its' community when it came to this game. The polish is lacking, and the balance of maps are next to trash. I will elaborate on a few major point's that completely and entirely ruin/break the system. This is the cherry on the sundae..
- Players who play only 1 style: Easy Mode.
This means if you're a Skinny type, engineer, carrying a carb 9, and you consider this your main loadout -- guess what friend? You have no skills. Anyone who has played against this type can easily agree. These type of players rush the enemy instead of focusing on objective play when they are on the offense. And make inbalanced maps harder for the offense when you have this type of player pitted against you playing defense, in an already broken balanced map, (which is near all of them.) And that Carb 9, lol, who needs to aim anyway, right? What a broken weapon. I know from personal experience because I use to be just like this type of player, and it's incredibley easy to own anything -- and ya, I thought I was good then. I've picked up many more tactics and loadouts since those times.
My final note to these players - Learn the rest of the game before you consider yourself even half way decent. You got a long way to go.
- Stat's on weapons are innacurate
The bullet cones + hitboxes are almost more worse then the Source engine. This is suppose to be an arcade shooter, so why am I not leading my shots as I should be? And if I'm point blank on a target, super accurate - I mean my sights don't leave this targets face and/or chest - how come none of my shots register? Am I too close? Broken.
- Broken maps
Even if teams were evenly matched, the maps are still so broken that 90% of the time, the defensive end will win. Unless everyone is the exact right class for the job for offense (which will never happen) then the defense usually wins. Brink should be known as Slink because of it's lopesided map styles.
- Releasing Brink as a AAA title.
This is probably the most important factor. Paying full price without knowing how bad something really is on the inside. Ooooo, nice graphics - cool game mode- awesome character and gun customization. But little did we know that as we skilled up into amazing players, did we only find out how repulsive and tedious the game machanics really were.
So really this is just a personal review. Sure it's a fun game at times, but as a more competitive player, I simply turn my head. The only thing this has going for it, for me, is the social aspect of playing with friends and clanmates. Skywest, James, X, Arans. These are the best players in brink in my opinion. They might keep playing in their free time, but I believe it's time for me to put my foot down on this and hang it up on the shelf for a while. Who knows, splash might make a come-back. (miracle.)
PS: Before anyone goes on saying I have like 490k exp, I played on NGG for a long ass time. Their servers don't record tracking. Thanks

So good bye I guess. Thanks all for the play, and forgive my exessive ranting in-game. Competitors ego there from games created back in the mid 90's (Quake, Team Fortress, etc)
