It finally happened.

That dreaded time is finally here. After 423 hours, I am hopelessly bored with the game, which came rather unexpectedly. It's not the fact I've seen every inch of the game world, as I still find it exciting. It's the gameplay itself I'm bored of. It's too repetitive. This is why I hope the DLC will add many new skills instead of just adding more landmass a la FO3 DLC.

Who is still excited with Skyrim after hundreds of hours?

I'm still enjoying it. Try different characters. In fact, I just made a Khajiit 2-H warrior type. After that, I might do a Dunmer Spellsword.

Nothing wrong with getting bored with a game... people have different thresholds. Find something else to do... it's not like this is the only thing out there.

well honestly... not tryin to troll or be confrontational here, but 400+ hours says something to us... YOU PLAY TOO MUCH. Its no wonder your bored with it... that amount of play time in such a short time would make almost anyone bored of anything they were doing for that long... try switching games every 4 hours instead of playin one game 8-24 hours a day hehehe. take a break and go for a walk or play a different game if your that in need of gameplay for such a long time.

On your behalf tho, i do happen to feel that the end game content is to easily obtained and min/maxed... max out enchanting and blacksmith and your pretty much done with gear for the rest of the game except for aquiring trophy pieces.. follow that with some one handed and good sneak and you can one hit anything in the game by like lvl 30...

I'm still lovingg it, but I only have about 200 hours in. Hubby has about 400 and is JUST starting to burn out on it. Time to go to something else until some DLC comes out.

I hit that boredom threshold a while ago, as far as questing and any feeling of 'newness' in the gameworld goes. But thanks to numerous mods which improve huge chunks of the overall experience, I'm still getting a fair bit of enjoyment out of playing multiple different characters. Without mods, I'd have gone elsewhere by now. Game companies need to do everything in their power to encourage and assist modders to do their thing- because mods vastly increase the replayability and enjoyment a lot of people can get out of games.

Thanks a million, all you modders out there! :wavey:

You must not have played Oblivion. Don't get me wrong, I sunk over a thousand hours into it (and lord knows how many more into Morrowind) and loved every minute of it, but with the revamped combat system and the perks Skyrim has the least repetitive gameplay so far in the series. In Oblivion, every fight felt like a war of attrition, and with previous games you just had to pray that your attacks landed until you managed to level up your skills.

They really need to release the DLC, after about 250-300 hours of game play I stopped playing about 3 Months ago. I am bored because I have seen everything. I haven't even reached the level cap. This has NEVER happened to me before in a TES game. Hell I still play Morrowind because I am still not bored with it! I wish they would at least release something small for the DLC, some concept art, pictures of some meshes, ANYTHING would satisfy me!

yea im around 3-400 hour mark an am getting very bored of it in general, im the same as you i love the world an dont find that boring its just as you say repetative in terms of quests an what there is to do in general. it just seems im doing the same old stuff an if its not doing similar quests im just raiding and looting dungeons for what appears to be nothing new at all an just to find the same old junk i found in the dungeon before an the one before that an probably thew next dungeon to come. i seem to have crafted all armour an weapons an once youve done it a few times an got ya level maxed out to 81 an you get ya armout an weapons to max theres only so much more you can do before it gets pointless an crafting gets extremely boring. i think the only thing keeping me playing is the fact ive not found many masks an not done as much guild quests so im just tying up loose ends it seems now an its lost its novelty. i still find the game fun but im quickly running out of things i can do that offer any kind of new or even fun experience anymore an its all stuff ive done hundreds of times over an basically get the same results everytime especially now im maxed at 81.

I stopped playing after beating every major quest. I only clocked in roughly 80 somewhat hours. Just waiting for some new content, then I'll start a new character.

Before I'm through I'm going to play a pure mage (no armor) and get them to level 50 at least. Thats about the only thing I haven't really done yet.

That, and I've never played on Master, and never have fought a Wispmother.

In a world of on line dominance in which SP games can last just 4 hours from start to finish 423 hours of enjoyable sp is quite an achievement for Beth.

I don't think 400 hours is too much. OP, if you played that much, I don't think you'll have a problem after taking a break. This is why.... I manage my time so I don't get tired of these games because I love them the most. I took a break and played FNV while waiting for a Skyrim patch. I'm playing Oblivion again right now after Alduin....and I still find new things in Oblivion after so many games...just amazing. It'll be that way for you in Skyrim too because it's massive. 400 hours won't find everything in every combination. Keep mixing things up. Just as soon as a new character forms in my mind, a new build I have to try, I'll be playing Skyrim again. Until then, I can close Oblivion gates to my heart's desire. Good luck! :) :tes:
