finally... something new

I also noticed an Operative icon off to the left while they were defending the bomb. I have no idea what that's for though.

Firewall the HE charge?

Yeah, but it's going to svck having Medics running around all over the place healing, buffing, and reviving people so they can get XP. Wait...

As weapons are not limited by classes, many people will probably just play medics to get access to better weaponry. However, with many medics around, alot of (I guess) important sidemissions will be left out.

"Uhhh, this defence is much to hard! Nerf attackors, plox!"
- "As Operative, you can do thisnthat to make the defence easier by accessing automatic turrets."
"What's an Operative?"

Not as much as you may think. I'm lead to believe that medics get little to no experience for shooting or killing, to really force medics to heal and revive others instead of making a heavy self healing super-tank build.

Well, you are placed by the amount of points you accumulate. A medic does easily accumulate the most points. I know that, I could play the game and a friend of mine came out first with alot more points than everyone else as he was only playing the medic-class.

Isn't that the job of the medic though? Tending to their team? Oh, I think I see what you are doing.

Yeah, the glowing gun buff thing is really ugly. And the vague halo thing around the players (I guess to show which side?) is awful. It obscures the art style, which is a big draw for me.

However if there are 2 many medics the points will go down. Don't worry there are plenty of operative fanatics out there.

But he was a Soldier at the time. Why would objectives for other classes appear on your screen? It could have been another command post or something that needed an Operative to take it, I suppose...

Yep, I still have no clue whatsoever. :cheat:

Of course, this footage, while new to us, is from the old container city vids, so there's probably been some changes since then. More to come as I watch it a few more times!

This isn't 'old' footage from the container city vid, this is from this year's PAX that just barely finished... what? 2 or 3 weeks ago?

As far as the Medic gets more XP thing goes, yes, I think it recieves too much.

The glowing gun damage buff is f-ugly.

Weird... I like it. :|

So yea seems like Medic is a bit..overpowered. Far more exp and the cool down on the guys abilities for medic were all of 5 seconds. I just hope this doesn't turn into a game of mainly medic trains is all. I know other roles need to be filled but I just have a feeling a vast majority of players will be going medic if it stays as is. Of course this is beta or alpha or something so I hope its all balanced or being looked at. On another note the glowing gun thing looked terrible. Surely their is a better way to show your gun is improved..

i don't know why your all complaining, i'd not mind an overload of medics, means i'd be able to get reckless since they'd almost immediatly revive me again anyway

If this game wants to give you a good experience, it's reliant on a good mixture of classes, Otherwise the mission-system will most likely not work at all and thus take away one of the major selling points.

i know i know, but i doubt everyone would take medic, some people like a challenge instead of looking for easy xp

If you ask me there is a lot too much going on in the hud, so many things highlighted and that. They sould remove most of that and it will look way better.

As weapons are not limited by classes, I assume you can unlock all weapons with every class. Taking into account that medics would unlock weapons faster than other classes, people would most likely medic their way through the unlocks.

i, and at least a few others, wouldn't use medic just to unlock stuff.
it's weak, it's cheap and it's noobish.
no offense to the medics that do their job for the good of the team though

About the glowing gun thing, I'm not sure if I like it either. Not that it looks bad, but because it might be annoying having your gun glowing and flashing as you're trying to use the iron sights. Plus it covers up the cool skin you made for your gun. I mean, maybe a faint golden aura or something--that would be fine with me--but the effect in that video just seems too flashy, pardon the pun.

Is it just me, or was the guy speaking really patronizing (to the player) with the tone of his voice?

I noticed it the most when he said
"Jolly, why don't you go become a medic, cuz medics just don't seem to be doing their jobs today"

You okay? Just adding information that wasn't mentioned here or in the video description. Don't have to be so defensive.

I'm almost certain that a large number of the players in that video were bots. It is hard to tell the difference, that's for sure.

It looked to be about half and half. The real players had names, I'm sure they would all match-up to SD staff, and the bots were just given numbers. Ex - Security06 or something
