finished rage (may replay) but now looking for a new game

Post » Fri May 04, 2012 3:01 am

So I liked Rage and am wanting to buy a new game, but I am slow to throw down money on games (budgeting!)

. I am not usually an action gamer, more RPG.

games I love: Fallout new vegas, skyrim, witcher I, morrowind, borderlands bioshock

games I liked alot: fallout 3, oblivion, neverwinter nights 1, two worlds 1 and 2 (a guilty pleasure) gothic 1 and 2, bioshock 2

games that bored me quickly: mafia 2, gothic 3.

so I am in the market for a new game. any suggestions?

what about old school games? or indie?

I would recommend eschalon if you like RPGs.

I have actually played eschalon 1 and 2. Loved them. Thought about grimrock but not a huge fan of puzzles or grid based combat.

I foyu do like RAGE, jump on to the latest Wolfenstein. It actually had the same linear "Do this mission and then this one", but it still contained a system where you could explore the city you were in (on foot mind you) and shoot any Nazis that were there, or find secret areas so you could go back and purchase upgrades for your guns. The graphics are still good, the feeling of the weapons was really nice and you get perform pschyic powers with this talisman you've got (There were 4 different powers that could be upgraded 3 times each, and then you could upgrade your talisman as well). Really adds an intersting dynamic to an already great game.

If you don't mind an older game you might want to try the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series...there are three of them and you probably can get them pretty cheap off of steam or elsewhere. Many types of guns, armor and other stuff where you run around a post disaster ridden area with stuff that can kill you every which way you go....plus vodka!!!

Have you tried all the singleplayer DLC for Bioshock 2, Borderland, Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 3?

Indeed ... the best video games ever made.

Get someone at id to play them, it should be an enlightening experience.

I bought stalker but only played it an hour or so. I moved since then will hunt Down the disk and try it again. Does it have a pretty good story ? It seemed like a typical shooter to me, maybe I was wrong.
