Finished the Main Quest, Now done

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 11:37 am

Just finished the main quest. Despite all of the little issues I have had to ignore and just play the game, I have to say I am pleased. Not GOTY pleased, but had fun none the less...Now it is on to Mass Effect 2 for now in aticipation of part 3. I do not think I will play another character through for a while in Skyrim as it does not beckon me for an immediate replay.

I am not gonna sit here and sissect the game from the start to finish and criticize. I think we all know by now what we would collectively like to have seen or see in the game. Overall, I had fun, and to me that is the point of gaming. No good if it isn't any fun to the player...

This is probably the first game I've spent so much time on. theres so much to.do. I finished the Main Quest but I still play the game.

Saints Row 3 for example I.probably played for 3 days and put it down after I finished the main part. The game is 70% done but I find nothing exciting to play in it anymore because Its all the same stuff now. If you have someone to co play with then its worth it.

I admit, I had fun too. While it was fun, that's about it. It didn't leave any lasting impressions on me. I was more satisfied with Oblivion's IMO.

Well I did the DB quests, TG quests, College of Winerhold, and a bunch of those miscellaneous quests. I did not delve into the rebellion at all though. I put over 140 hours into the gamew and just wanna take a break, I do wanna do the Companions quest line also. So far, I own 4 houses, Riften, Markarth, White Run, and Solitude. of all my place in Solitude is my favorite. Like I said, it may not be my GOTY, but I had fun...

140 and you finished everthing? I'm 230 and I havent beaten any of the Guilds or MQ, not beacuse of the game but more because I know they are short as hell, and I'm trying to preserve the.....purity lol

One does not simply Beat TES.....but you can beat everything in it.

Is the main quest all you did? Main quests in TES are usually about 1% of the game.

Nah, I did a whole bunch of side quests, cleared a bunch of dungeons, a lot of side quests, became Thane in a few cities etc...More than 140 hrs of play put into it...

Well I guess I'm probably at about 100 hours with this new character and I still have A LOT to do. I still have to do the dark brotherhood, civil war, and thief quests. Also I havent even visited all the main cities yet in the game

Glad you enjoyed the game

Well Bethesda needs to make the end quest end in an epic boss battle requiring tons of restarts.

The main quest is always seconary in TES games but I hope they do better on it with the next TES game

I just now compelted the MQ as well :)
I enjoyed it very much and lengthened it by jumping from the MQ to side quests in between missions

glad you enjoyed your skyrim,,although i have a funny feeling your short changing yourself for some reason as your game seems awfully short???

im over 120 hrs, level 42, and i still have the main quest, thieves guilds,dark-brotherhood,civil war, loads of misc and random quests to get done so im unsure as to how much of the game you have actually done to say your bored??but every one is different

I'm Avoiding the main quest, i finished on one other character and then i was just like, WTF do i do now?
So i just re-rolled and now i'm not going to do it until I've had my fill of side quests and faction quests.

The main quest was quite dissapointing for me. I don't like the dragons theme because it has been reused in RPGs so many times. Also it was short, as are the rest of main faction quests. Why couldn't I become a High King as a Dovakhiin? Morrowind > Oblivion > Skyrim in terms of quest lenght. A trend which concerns me.

Oblivion's MQ was also cheesy, but it was much more satisfying for me, it felt solid, it had united the whole Cyrodil against this threat, I had possibilities of defending the cities and moving in with my goon squad against the daedra straight into hell.

But the main selling point of Oblivion for me was the character of Martin Septim - perhaps the best RPG character I've seen so far. He is just fantastic. Sean Bean as a voice actor is golden, too. Epic. I highly recommend buying Oblivion which only got better with all the great mods.
