Finishing Faction Quest...

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 11:58 pm

I've completed all of the factions quest, and I must say I am a little dissapointed by the end result. The reason being is because, I can still walk up to people and they will tell me to "check out" the guilds. Umm duh, I'm already the Guild Master,Listener, Archmage, ect...

Anyone get what I am saying? They should of just made it to where them scripts disappear after you complete a faction questline. I don't know just saying my opinion.

Yes, I completely agree. The entire game is this way! The NPCs have barely any knowledge of the quests you've completed. For example, after you complete the civil war questline, people still complain about the civil war, how it's not safe because of all of the fighting, or something about those damned stormcloaks (even though I've killed them all).

Another example is how none of the legion members will call you Legate after you've earned the title. They continue to talk down to you in the usual matter even though you outrank them.

Overall, I'm very disappointed by how unaware the NPCs are of what's going on around them.

I never completed the Civil War questline yet, I was planning to side with the Imperials. But in that case, maybe I will just kill them all! Haha.

But yes I totally agree, one funny thing is that a guard just helped me kill a Dragon and right after that he was complaining about how his cousin is out fighting Dragons and he is on guard duty. LOL!

Guards in particular have a very selective/strange memory, and while they can know you've done something or completed a quest seconds after you did it, they still don't know that Winterhold wasn't blown up by the College after those magical orbs attacked, among other misinformation.

Example:

*completes missing in action quest*

*Goes to white run*

Guard (I'm paraphrasing here): "Heard you gave the Thalmor a real black eye. You sure know how to pick your enemies, don't you?"

Nooooooooooooooooooo....my covert OP is blown!

I'm more than a little annoyed that you can be a Blade/Imperial... both presumably loyal to the Emperor... and then kill the Emperor with little to no consequences.

You don't even hear about it like it's big news... wouldn't the death of the GD Emperor be BIG FREAKEN NEWS in the EMPIRE? Especially with Thalmor waiting to take over the world and the Legion stretched far into Skyrim trying to keep it from falling to the Stormcloaks? You think that might help or hurt one side or the other?

Nope. I did it and it was like... congrats bud. Here's your coin.

By the way, we've got other people you can kill if you're bored...

Ha, I was almost not going to kill the Emperor. He seemed like such a nice guy and he made me feel bad before I killed him. But then I said screw it, it's just a video game and decapitated him.

At least I was nice enough to kill the guy the guy who had assigned the contract.

But yeah to stay on the topic....it seems like when Bethesda was creating these types of quest that they kind of just forgot about what was going on in the rest of the game.
