Something I dislike about the Fire and Frost Breath shouts is that they ar too weak compared to the cooldown.

Fire Breath does 50/70/90 damage based on what level you have with a 30/50/100 sec cooldown.

Frost Breath does 10/14/18 damage over 5 seconds and the same cooldown as Fire Breath.

Anyone else feel these shouts are largely useless?

Ya, it's all about Unrelenting Force. Fire Breath and Frost Breath are way too underpowered.

I don't find them useless well I do the frost breath but not the fire one. Plus if you get the permanent active effect it makes fire do 25% more damage

The "Force Without Effort" effect is infinitely more useful than "The Fire Within" effect though. Your Staggers are 25% stronger (This includes Power Attacks, Shield Bashes, etc) while Stagger effects against you are 25% weaker.

I guess they might be useful against enemies weak to one of those particular types of damage. Aside from the joy of setting an entire room full of people on fire... meh. I'll just stick with Unrelenting Force.

The only thing Fire Breath is useful for are large numbers of very very weak enemies, like Skeletons and Frostbite Spiders.

Fire breath is the shout I always have loaded. Even though it may be weak, I still use it along with the fire spells, as well as weapons with fire damage. Maybe I'm a closet pyromaniac?

I find they tend to be really useful if all the enemies are conveniently in a line. It also gives an ranged attack for strictly melee warriors.

fire breath was only useful for me in early levels when stuff was weak. lately its been more become ethereal/marked for death/ice form. ice form i think is far better than frost breath.

I dunno, the only shouts I really use are Unrelenting force, Storm Call, Etheral form and the thing that makes you swing quicker. The only ones fun to use, really.

yeah they're pretty weak, maybe if the cool down was in line with the unrelenting force, well no not even then.
