Fire, Frost, and Shock Enchant Perks

I'm pretty sure they do, but do the elemental enchanting perks apply to resist enchants as well as offensive enchants?

You must have discovered each of the enchantments first. Enchantments for damage can only be placed on weapons, and resist enchantments on armor or clothing. Enchantments for worn items are specific to items such as boots, or gauntlets, etc.

As far as I can see in game they do. And the perk affects both armor and weapons so it would apply to damage affects on weapons and resistance effects on armor.

What I mean is do Fire/Frost/Storm Enchanter perks apply to the damage dealing enchants or both the damage dealing ones and the Resist ones?

Edit: You got yours in while I was typing mine. :P Damn it! I figured...3 perks I would've liked to use elsewhere.

Like I mentioned above, the perk says "armor and weapon enchantments" which applies to damage and resistances since you cant have damage on armors and cant have resistances on weapons. So in short, as long as it isn't bugged it applies to any of the element enchantments.

OMFG! Enchanting removes the "Legendary" status?!?!? WTF?!?!? Now I have to 'waste' another Perk into Arcane Enchanter.

When I make them Legendary again will they be of the same damage value as before I enchanted them (considering I improve under the same circumstances as I had done previously)?

I have never had a bow lose its upgraded status after enchanting. Ill look into this and see if its a bug or if they just remove the label. Did the damage actually go down or just the label of legnedary?

EDIT: checked a few forums, people have had the same problem but it was only the label itself that was removed, damage and everything stayed the same. Weird thing too because I enchant my superior stuff and never had the label go away even after renaming the object.

Damage went down too - it went from 82 to 42. FWIW this was just a preview window I haven't actually gone through with it yet. :P

They should, except for the enchantment added damage. If you are going to upgrade weaponry, do it after it's been enchanted, as you can save money and material.

Why not just test it out and save before doing so, just reload if you check it in your inventory and the damage is still low. The comments I read indicated that upon checking it in the inventory it was the damage they started with. Perhaps the preview is bugged.

Yeah, I'll probably just try it out and revert if I have to. I upgraded them long before my Enchanting was maxed, but I may just experiement. I figured I'd ask here because there's usually someone who knows that can answer quicker than I can do the save, test, reload - the loads are so slow now and my game is getting so laggy that many areas are effectively unplayable. <_<

As long as the physical damage returns to 82 I'll be OK with that - I just don't want to split the difference (ie 31 Shock damage and 51 Physical damage). :P

You should be fine......I read a couple more posts from others on gamfaqs and ign boards, they said that it will change back right after enchanting it and that its just a glitch in the menu. As always before doing something major do a save.

Eureka! One Daedric Sword of Shocking Stamina (Legendary) and one Daedric Sword of Health Fire (Legendary) created.

I have a bad feeling I'm gonna' get annoyed having to recharge them all the time. :P

Getting Fortify Destruction enchants also reduces the cost of your weaponenchants, by the way.
And the Destruction elemental perks also upgrade your weaponenchants damage.

http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1312501-the-way-of-the-artificer/page__fromsearch__1

EDIT: Meaning if you have 4 Fortify Destruction by 25% items equipped, you'd never have to recharge your weapon if you have a Fire/Frost/Storm damage enchant, not sure about the absorb health.

I'm working on my "artificer", I've come down to 1 problem with 2 possible outcomes.

Problem being for it to work, you need to have the appropriate perks/skills.
1. Low level you're stuck with 1 weapon type, since you don't have the needed enchanting perks for it to be effective
2. You could first level smithing/enchanting, buy trains for destruction (fire/frost damage perks), but when you finally have that Daedric Sword with infinite Fire/Frost enchant damage, you'd be outlevelled and possibly get one shotted.

It saves investing perks into 1 weapon type, so you could be effective in all 3 (4 if you count staves which increase as you increase your destruction) weapon types, which adds diversity.

My build would be somewhat like this: http://skyrimcalculator.com/#58243

I'm aware I chose 5 perks in Archery, sneaking and archery would help me low level, then start crafting when I hit level 15-20ish.
I also went with light armor (Glass weapons, Dragon armor) since I have a heavy armor character. The speech perks are also not necessary.

Alchemy can be important, as you can eat a Fortify Destruction potion which will increase the weaponenchant damage even further (as stated in the link I posted earlier).
Credit goes to Ryuujin_0 for his research
