Fire Wyrms

Post » Mon Feb 04, 2013 11:59 am

So I thought I would try out the Fire Wyrm thingy. First I tried it on some skeletons and a wolf. I just used the first word, Yol. Nothing happened. Then I went and found a mud crab and used two words (I only know two so far), Yol-Tol. This time I got a Fire Wyrm.

So what are the restrictions on getting a fire wyrm? Do you have to use all the words you know? Or just the first two? Or what?

Seems like the first two, using the full shout guarantees it.

You have to use all 3 words in order to get the fire wyrm which is pretty cool looking but svcks in combat

The only restriction on getting a Fire Wyrm is that something has to die from the shout to trigger the worm. If you shout at a tougher enemy who has full health, you probably won't get a Wyrm.

Read the description carefully.

Yeah, only restriction is the death of the enemy....sadly the shout itself does near to zero damage on master and Fire Wyrm svcks in combat anyway....

In my opinion it looks nice. Like a fire version of an ice wraith. But I prefer the other abilities, specially the Unrelenting force one.

1) You assume I cannot read.

2) The only restriction is not that you kill your enemy. I killed 2 skeletons and a wolf using just one word and did not get a fire wyrm. When I used two words I did.

Id say some words are for bragging rights.
But maybe some perks increase the [censored]ity doo dah strength of the shout.

I love the wyrms and often get two by using a two-word Fire Breath on packs with 'trash mob' Draugr (I don't have the third word on this character). The damage output from the wyrms doesn't matter because they are really crowd control, drawing the fire (excuse the pun) of stronger mobs. Seeing a pack of four Draugr turn into two wildly flailing scourges in a single shout is a load of fun.

I hit and killed two deer with the shout and got two Wyrms, then about 30-60 seconds later they exploded in a fireball of sorts. SO I'd assume that they have a time limit similar to a conjured summon as opposed to sticking around until all danger is dead.

Off-topic note, I really like how their coloration matches the Dragon Aspect shout and the color of Dragon souls when you absorb them. I can say from experience it looks damn badass when you have 3+ Wyrms assisting you while using Dragon Aspect and getting the Ancient Dragonborn to help you as well. So much blue and orange lol.

I love the fire wyrms, they distract (and hurt) the rest of the enemies xD and you often meet one or two low level enemies mixed in with the harder ones (some normal draugrs even if your level 30+ for example) so its not hard to get some fire wyrms from time to time.

(I do however recommend meditating on the fire word of power, fire breath dosent hurt much even with the meditation, but its still better).

Good thing is you can have thanks to shouts now:

A follower (more if glitches used).

A pet follower.

Two summons.

The dragon aspect.

Wyrms.
