Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5800 processor
Integrated Graphics Media Accelerator X4500HD

No. Stay far away from that system. Build one yourself.

That system would allow you to install the game, not play it at any playable level.

Emachines in general is a brand to stay away from.

The "Integrated Graphics Media Accelerator X4500HD" isn't really good for modern games, and not officially supported for Skyrim. I would recommend you to buy a computer with a better graphic card.

I don't know what that will cost you, but you will have to find something better. Maybe if you say how much youu can spend?

If you DO get that machine, spring the extra $200 for a good GPU. Personally, I have an E-machines that I let my in-laws have, and it's still trucking, but I wouldn't use it again unless I ABSOLUTELY had to.

You forget the CPU. Pentiums these days aren't worth much in terms of computational ability.

Do you have a mid size case and other computer parts that you can salvage? Any computer parts around the house?

My computer started as an eMachines that I got for $200 (incl. monitor) on a black friday sale in 2004. I eventually have upgraded every single component -- which is basically what you'll want to do. There is basically nothing in that computer that you want for a gaming machine -- from the keyboard to the chips, even the wires.

Even the computer case is too small for a gaming motherboard to fit.

Caution: the motherboard in the eMAchines may not even have a PCIe video card slot, meaning, you'll have to use PCI video, which means you won't be able to play any games post 2004 very well.

The CPU is good, but the GPU will need to be bought separately. For those wondering there isn't really any difference between Pentium Dual Core's & Core 2 Duo's only there FSB & Cache is lower which won't hurt much at all, heck I did a test between a E5200 @ 3.0GHz, E5400 @ 3.0GHz & E8400 @ 3.0GHz all paired with 9800 GT's both got the exact same FPS in Skyrim & FNV.

For $300 that is actually pretty good, buy a GTX 460 or a HD 6850/6870 to go with it and your set.

EDIT: It's the Pentium D you want to stay away from not the Pentium Dual Core's, confusing I know.

OK, just either post the model number or do the research yourself, to make sure it has a PCIe 16x slot. The motherboard specs should be detailed at eMachines.com

You're better going for your own build, even if it's a bit of a pain in the ass. The amount of money saved and quality recieved will be much higher.

eMachines are actually one of the best for the money, contrary to popular opinion. Never had any problems with any of ours.

Just avoid HP. Total nightmare.

I would suggest you build your own, unless you've never had a computer before. You get a lot better computer for not much more. I would never buy a prebuilt, personally.

Friend was showing me some Dell computers on their online store that were really hard to beat the price, even if you build it yourself. The only thing they get you on is the RAM. They charge ridiculous prices for the RAM, so get the lowest they'll sell, and upgrade it yourself.
