So I finally made my way at level 18 to see Mr. House. I explored quite a bit before I went. I'll sum it up, I talked to him, got the next part of the quest to recover a platinum chip. And was on my way to leave. I saved right there so this avenue of cooperation with Mr House is open to me as well.

I went over to a wall terminal and hacked it (hard). it gave me the option to unlock a door. It did state if I did, it would be considered unauthorized access. I unlocked the door. A ton of Robots then assaulted me, including victor and jane (sold her my snow globes first). Thank god for pulse grenades. I killed approx 8 robots, 2 more in the other room. I then hacked another wall terminal and got access to Mr House laying in his chamber. I woke him up and pulled the plug. For good measure, I hit him in the head with the 44 magnum after he was already dead (producing some nice gore).

Now what?

How does this affect my game from here on out? I am sure its possible to go on from here.

What opportunities did I just lose on?

Which did I open?

Interested to hear what people did from this obviously pivotal point.

Well you can no longer side with Mr. house. Im not to sure but i think you can get somewhere further in the main quest if you speak to the right people

My curiosity got the better of me a few hours back and I did the same thing... Damn House gave me the creeps. I ehmm... accidently cleaned the pod while he was still attached to it. the look on my reaction was both one of horror and intense laughter. I quickly reloaded and left him alone in his pod as he's a badass and I want him to stay alive.
