And yet killing a chicken still warranted a death sentence even after release...

Weirdly enough, for both my kids playing this game, they had to butcher half of Riverwood over chicken related incidents. I'd call t a death sentence for poor old Alvor. The odd thing is, one of them managed to kill said chicken by standing on some leather armour they had dropped, which flew across the street and brained the poor hen.

And don't release prisoners and give them kit to defend themselves. Who do you think reports you for killing those Thalmor if they live to tell the tale?
