Hello people!
This is my first post in a loooong time, back when Morrowind was new.
Ive been playing skyrim ever since it came out, in the 360.
Ive played it several times and loved every minute of it, but now I want to explore the modding community and all the extras the pc version offers.

I know my laptop can run it, but i wanted to ask you, which settings and mods do you recommend for my specs?

It has got 8gb RAM
an intel I7 dual core processor (dont remember the speed but its about 2.9ghz
a 1 gb nvidia video card
plenty of hard disk

It runs.. I have worse speccs then that

i3 3.4GHz
GTX560 Ti
8GB RAM

And I can run it on Ultra with Ini tweaks and modded the hell out Skyrim.

Find out what kind of graphics card you have and look at the benchmark of it for skyrim. Do the same for your processor. That way you can see if your laptop can run skyrim at low,medium,high,ultra graphic settings.
I did the same thin when I bought my new laptop couple of weeks ago. The site I used was notebookcheck.net

As for mods; there are several that increase visual effects and such. These kind of mods may slow your pc down. (like the High Res pack by Bethesda, only download these updates/mods if you can run skyrim smoothly on ultra settings. (without your laptop going as hot as a sun. Had that in the passed, simply fried my pc by gaming on too high graphic settings.)
