I got this game for xmas today. Fired it up and played about a total of 5-6 hours. Anyway, I have now tried to load into my game three times. Each time, the game progresses through the various loading screens and bars, but when it's done, all I hear is background sound. I have no video, or even control of my ps3, and I have to do a hard restart. Is this common?

If so, dang, looks like a returned game, something I VERY RARELY do. Morrowind is (and remains) my favorite game of all time. I know Bethesda is working hard and all, but it seems from these boards that they are losing lots of fans, including me. It's funny that the games are worse on console, since piracy isn't nearly as bad there. Console is where most of their sales will be. Anyway, sorry for the rant. I'm going to back up my save file, uninstall skyrim, then re-install to see if it fixes anything. Will post results here tomorrow. Happy holidays.

Tried it. Didn't work. Good times. Why would I want to play anymore if my game might corrupt at anytime? Did anyone else have this prob?

Mmm that's a new one..
I guess all I can suggest is try to free some space on your HDD if your getting low on it..
Other then that it sounds like the save file itself has corrupted somehow.. have you got some earlier autosave's you can try?

Unfortunately not. I had been reading some of the issues regarding lag and trying to prevent it. One of the things that seemed to be working for people was deleting old saves. I guess I'll have to try to carry two saves at all times now. In a 100+ hour game, one of my game save files becoming corrupt should have entered into my thought process. I just didn't want to have an unplayable game.
