Flawless Perfect Skin

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 8:17 am

I was wondering if anyone could lead me in the right direction on how to get perfect flawless skin. For example if you look at http://www.newvegasnexus.com/imageshare/images/213145-1287848098.jpg her skin is perfect, flawless, no dirt, nothing. I am using a dimon face texture, but it still is dirty and grimy looking.

You should try emailing whoever posted that pic and see what face texture they are using. I am using a custom face texture that has some natural imperfections that make it look like real skin and the lighting where you take a picture helps a lot.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a skin texture *quite* as flawless (read: plastic) as that. The barbie-builders do like to 'shop their pictures to high buggery so that might be what it is.

That pic has a photoshop filter to make the screenshot more clear. I'm usng the same textures I'm use in Fallout 3: Dimon type 3 face textures.

This is about as clear as you can make your skin without just making the character bleached white. That's just with the default textures btw, you can make it smoother/more plastic with a mod.

Doesn't it have numbers by default? If not then it'll be Darn UI.

The reason you character looks orange is that New Vegas has a blanket sepia filter, in the same way that FO3 made everything green. There are two way round this, you can either drain all the yellow from your characters face and make the shade lighter, so that when the orange filter is applied your characters skin will look normal. The problem with doing this is that it tends to make your lips look a wonky pink colour. This is about as good as your going to get with default textures:

Or you could use a mod like Fellout that reduces the yellow tint:

Edit - actually I made the eyesockets a little too dark which left an odd line in the middle of the face, http://lh4.ggpht.com/_z1odMghQc7A/TMSw-464gbI/AAAAAAAAADs/IgQLtZ7hhGY/s1152/ScreenShot27.jpg is a little better.

Filter>Gaussian Blur x10 :D

If you're interested, try looking up one of many 'how to touch up a face' tutorials. Most of them go for that smooth-but-plasticy look.

There's been a few head texture packs that have come out in the last 3-4mo for oblivion that are for all purposes 'flawless' with clean heads, the most recent two that come to mind are the 2ch compilation, and the recently released aos si.

LIES! Nah, I wasn't trying to come off like that(tired and all that so no offence meant :D) There are a few packs, but they're few and far between. Most stuff is custom, and you need to add it via the CS and so on. But for people looking for clean head/body textures and meshes I'd say start looking around japanese mod sites, since they seem to kick them out in quick order and they are compatible with the US/Euro versions minus the text issues for descriptions which are in japanese/etc. :)

There's also been some really promising stuff coming out of china as well. I'd link to a few of the sites but Beth gets cranky when you link to sites that have non-locked(aka requires login like nexus) advlt content.

eh I'll risk it again this time
