Fletching (Being able to make arrows)

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 11:09 am

Hello all,

I think being able to make arrows would be a great addition to the already great bow-man gameplay.
True you find a fair amount of arrows along the way within dungeons and if your on the lower end of the morality level, Stealing them from vendors and homes. But usually those are iron or steel arrows at best. What im getting at is glass, ebony, deadric, Most of the ingredients for the process are already in the game. Just add the rod and maybe be able to use the hawk feathers or even hagraven feathers, Combine that with the blacksmithing tree or even a new tree.

When Skyrim was in development, didn't Todd say that arrows would be precious and hard to come by - but bows would be very powerful as a result? What happened to that? Bows are pretty weak and there are a ton of arrows all over the place...

Bows are pretty weak
You must have never played an archer as my archer is the most OP of all my Char's and he uses Elven armour compared to some others that use Daedric w/ enchantments

I don't think it would really be all that necessary, I have a lot of arrows at the moment, but I haven't been using archery that often.

I think the idea might be helpful if I was someone who was solely an archer, otherwise, not really needed.

My vampire hunter is an archer and takes tons of arrows to kill anyone. :( What difficulty are you playing on?

It isn't OP since you're f*cked when the enemies numbers are large (and strong) and you fail to one hit kill your first target.

A fletching add-on would suit me. It'd be difficult and sometimes tedius, but a well-made arrow would strike with the fury of a god.

There, the best Fletching mod I could find. Use this while waiting for Dawnguard/the update where they add fletching.

only arrows as weak or weaker than Steel. Anything above that does a lot of damage but is pretty rare

Firewood, ingots (any type) and feathers. From hawks perhaps? All though those would be very hard to come by.

Just giving a high level arrow to your follower then looting the arrows off the bodies can get you a lot of arrows. Alea has 1 daedric arrow and she has given me almost 300 daedric arrows from looting bodies.

Bows are very powerful later in the game especially combined with sneaking, but yes arrows are still common.

OP I would like to see the option to create arrows, with Dawnguard we get the option to create bolts so I hope arrows are given the same consideration.

They might add in the option to create arrows in one of the interviews about Dawnguard it was said that they was opening up more options for the crafting system.

Im hoping they do that as well, I mean they are allowing you to make bolts, there isnt alot of diffrence between a bolt and an arrow.

I imagine it would be like one ingot + wood = 50 arrows.

I would like it, simply because Daedric arrows are so hard to come by.

Chopping firewood would actually have a use, considering you could use that to get the arrow shafts.

But yes, I think they should add fletching, daedric arrows are rare >.>

Love the idea. I actually find the crafting to be enjoyable and as an archer it's a no brainer.
