fMeshLODLevel2FadeDist and fMeshLODLevel1FadeDist - Values

Post » Tue May 22, 2012 6:15 am

I need your help. I've read a lot of SkyrimPrefs.ini on this forum, and some people at STOCK .ini file have

fMeshLODLevel2FadeDist=10000000.0000
fMeshLODLevel1FadeDist=10000000.0000

and by stock .ini file i have

fMeshLODLevel2FadeDist=3072.0000
fMeshLODLevel1FadeDist=4096.0000

Btw, what does this command do anyways ?

i think it's how good distant mesh looks (when it fades from really good, to not so good, to low res & when it fades) my distant land (mountains ect) look quite good.
i set my values to

fMeshLODLevel2FadeDist=20000000.0000
fMeshLODLevel1FadeDist=20000000.0000

I'm not even sure on the max you can have, it could well be 10000000.0000

always keep a good copy of ur .ini file, then use trial & error, tjhats all I do, then you can find the right settings for you/you're pc. no point in copying other peoples settings in my opinion.

I selected Ultra from the Options menu, nothing modified in the .ini file, it's stock. And other people have on their stock .ini file that 10000000.0000 value.
