Follower Perks

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 8:06 pm

Has anyone investigated to see if giving your follower perks actually does any good? I'm thinking about giving Jenassa some Archery, Light Armor and Blocking stuff since that's all she's good at (ok, maybe some Sneak and One Handed, too). At her level of 40, she's earned the full set for archery, light armor and the few "legally" available for sneak and one hand.

I'm assuming that the ones that require a toggle (Eagle Eye and Steady Hand in Archery for instance) would be useless since the NPC won't know to use them. But then, how would you tell?

Would Block do any good if all she carries is a bow?

On that subject, with a skill of 100 Marksman (but only 37 One Hand) , why the heck does she insist on using a melee weapon if I give her one instead of the Daedric (Legendary) bow in her inventory. And why don't her arrows show as being equipped??

isnt your janessa doing those funny rolls when she stealth-sprint ....
are you not noticing any killing blows

and they switch weapons too. she start with a bow then go on charging like crazy. she s almost better than me. what a shame.

Why would she be doing funny rolls when she stealth-sprint? That perk isn't available until skill 50 and she's only 31. She certainly doesn't have the Light Foot prerequisite perk, as I can verify by the scars I've acquired from when she insist on stepping on traps that I walk around. And no, I haven't seen her doing any killing blows either.

I suspect they don't have/use any perks. I tried giving some using the console and it doesn't give a response "so-and-so added" as it does with me. I also tried adding the 25% magick resistance for Bretons since she wouldn't accept the Lord Stone effects. It worked - until the next time I played, then it was gone again.

How do you check your followers perks or even add any for that matter? =/

On PC, through the console, I presume.

Obviously, but how? What's the console key?

Sorry, originally had a dumber post. XD

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Console; do a search on "perk" and you'll find the appropriate command. However, you'll still have to reference the skills/perks IDs themselves, apparently, which can be found ingame according to the article.

The wiki article on the various console commands is Http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Console

But as far as checking (or giving) your follower perks, that was the point of my original post. I'm unconvinced that they have them, or use them if possessed in the first place. /beginwhine Other than observing follower animations that might be a tip-off, there doesn't seem to be any way to get a definite answer. And the animations are only seen using the third-person camera view - which makes it an entirely different game (to me, anyway). /endwhine
