I made a stop for the night at darkwater crossing just as I was about to enjoy some mead and cooked beef some imperial soldiers showed up and attacked the guards. I have joined up with the imperials but have now taken a neutral stance on the war Im a deserter I guess. I took exception to my peaceful evening being interrupted so I run one through and chopped the head of a second. The guards dealt with the last of them. Then my follower lost it attacked and killed the guards shouted at a goat saying he would rip it in half copped it up with his axe then shot a chicken. I may have to let him go that kind of behaviour makes me think hes a tad unbalanced.

That goat and chicken were plotting your demise. Don't misjudge your follower. He is only trying to protect you.

Haha, the only person (in Skyrim) I can imagine would do something like that is Cicero Or maybe one of these madmen/madwomen you meet randomly

It was Benor Hes normally a level headed guy If a bit overambitious. He tends to tell dragons how hes going to rip them in half then spends the entire fight on his knees begging for mercy.

Yer maybe I better keep my eye on those snitching chickens.
