Follower wont enter custom world space

Post » Tue Jun 19, 2012 1:26 pm

So, I've been working on a player owned world space. A sort of "hideout", if you will.

I've been following Beth's vid tuts, as well as the wiki, and I think the cell is optimized fully.
However, when I enter the cell in-game, my follower wont follow me.
I'm able to enter-exit the world space perfectly fine, and when I exit my follower is standing right there waiting for me.

I was going to embed a youtube vid in my post to show you what I mean, but apparently I'm not allowed to post links.

This was an issue back in Oblivion and I believe Fallout 3 as well. Can't remember the fix for it or if there even was one but I'd consider asking around about that...

Well, make sure your nav meshing is all properly done and that there arent too many gaps.

This is an actual issue many people seem to be having trouble with and the wiki even addresses it.

We're all kind of waiting on an answer, best of luck

Well, to me the navmesh looks really good and clean, and I don't have any gaps.
Also, when checking the navmesh like it says in Beth's vid tut, it says there aren't any errors.

I can't post links or I would do a fly-through video of the level with the navmesh visible to show it.

No not an issue in the same way. Oblivion worked ok once you got used to it and path finding. Skyrim however has a bug that is being fixed. Any esp with new navmeshes in Skyrim will stop working the second time you enter the location. Its being looked into by Bethesda.

I had a problem with NavMesh and Companions not following yesterday. Turned out i had forgotten to finish the NavMesh on the other side. Check that you have green triangles on both sides.
