This has probably been asked before but wich followers will stay with you if you join the Legion?
I am sure Boone is out but beside him?

Arcade refuses to join if Legion rep is too high, he will also leave at some point.
Veronica will leave at some point.
Cass will leave at some point and might be unrecruitable if you wreck havoc at the Outpost.
And Boone shoots Legion on sight.

All races besides humans can team up with Legion.
Ironic thing is that Legion discriminates mutants.

You can keep Arcade in the Legion, but not with you.

My character is running around alone because of this ridiculous set up with companions. Boone and Arcade both think I work for the Legion even though I don't, my rep standing with the Legion just turned out that way. It's a pity there wasn't put in the game some way to convince them the rumours are all lies.

Yes those darn slaves.

Lily is the most annoying companion ever. Plus It's the two human male companions in the game that can't be recruited because of reputation.

That's the price of helping a dictator that wants to swallow up the wasteland by force most people are just not going to want to help him.

LOL I never said I helped him.

I ended up accepted because I did things in a way that made sense to me.

How about Raul?

I also like having Rex for a legion character, as many legionaries have mongrels with them.

And you could always not have a companion. I had a successful legion play through without having any at all.

There is Raul but I always keep him locked up in my games. This particular game I've ended up accepted by the Legion through no fault of my own except roleplaying, but i'm not siding with Legion. It would be nice if there was an ordinary male companion who wasn't too fussy about your reputation. Later in the game I'd probably be able to recruit Boone or Arcade but the fun is mostly over by then. Rex and Ede are great but they don't talk.

If you're so fussy about being accepted by the Legion, and you aren't siding with them, then just kill a few of them and get whatever companion you like.

I'm not going to go and kill things without any reason just to get a rep drop to be able to do something in the game. That would be throwing roleplaying out the window for me. The whole point of this topic is the shortage of neutral companions.

Yes, Veronica can stay if you join the Legion. You will have to blow up the BoS base though, and the only way to make her stay after blowing up the BoS base is to be 'Liked' or 'Idolized' by the Brotherhood before wiping them out, so you don't get negative reputation.

Raul and Lily also have no problems with you joining the Legion.

I will not "drop it" thank you. I am posting about the topic and will not "shut up"
I am "posting" that there are not enough companions for neutral characters or characters who want to play legion.

Yes Veronica is a good choice but she's not a guy. I get up to liked by the Legion for a time in the game and by the time that settles back down to Vilified (it's independent for this playthough), like I said earlier the fun is just about over.

My take on your advices:
Robots are ok, but Rex fits more with the Legion-feel.
Humans either wont join or will betray you at some point, possible exception is Veronica.
Raul and Lilly have no objections but migth seem odd. Well Mutants always seems odd...
Given the follower perks I just migth settle for just me and Rex. Oh I forgot to mention I would be playing a melee character , it is the Legion after all .
