Followers need to be able to mount a steed

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 7:11 pm

Bethesda I am tired of watching my follower traverse the world of Skyrim on foot. In oblivion they could ride horses, why not now. It would be awesome to see them engage in combat on horseback, charging in and away while riding.

I would also like ot see them being able to get the benefits of a standing stone, it would make them more useful.

There better be. This is ridiculous.

I love traveling around on horseback, especially with my heavier warriors who focus more on health than stamina and have bulky armor. When I reach Rorikstead and start adventuring with Erik the Slayer, everything slows down! :swear:

I believe they were going to remove horses from Skyrim completely and threw them back in at the last minute. I really don't understand it at all, it is AWESOME for those of us who don't like fast travel. It's a realistic approach to getting somewhere somewhat fast, without skipping out on all the cool stuff you can see and do between point A and point B. I really don't know why horses don't get more attention than they do. They should spend a ton more time making them useful to the player. I would even accept the follower having to get on the horse WITH me, as long as they aren't running around behind, it's just completely stupid.

I was poking fun at the fact that Bethesda took out underwater combat... And I've been half asleep all day, so... I might be sleeping.

Yeah, first time I jumped in the water and a slaughter fish or whatever it was, started attacking and I couldn't fight back I was checking to see if my game was broke.

It would be handy if your follower could ride on your horse with you to cut down on wait time.Disable them from using mounted combat however as they would be holding onto you to avoid falling off.

Pah, I have seen Lydia running on the spot on top of the saddle before now, they are like old people on the bus into town to collect their pensions, no matter how rough the ride is their fragile old wobbly knees keep them planted firmly. Hmm, OAP's and followers have a lot in common, generally slow the pace of everything around them, make senile decisions, and tend to repeat the same old lines.

At first I read the title as "Followers need to be mountable as a steed" and almost died of laughter, and I'm just going to pretend that's what you meant. Because that would make 100x more amazing update than an update that allows are followers to ride horses, so yes, we should be able to mount our followers like steeds! ONWARD LYDIA HEYAH YE YONDER TO BLACKREACH WE GO!!!

Hmm i remeber reading somewhere that they spent a [censored]load of time making the horses move naturally xD. Take a close look, they move just like real horses (mostly). It might have been better to put a hour or two aside for making followers able to use them.
