FOMM?

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 9:53 am

Hey gang. I just purchased New Vegas. I've been playing Oblivion for the first time and was pleasantly surprised when I went after some plants and could pick 'em! Oblivion's got me trained!

Anyhow, figure at some point I'm gonna get into the modding thing and noticed there's already so much activity going on. Are we using FOMM for NV mods?

What is the basic kit now? I noticed there was a FONVedit out there, I'm assuming we'll need that (like FO3edit)

New archiveinvalidated?

New FOMM?

Or is everyone just dropping new mods into data folders. Sorry for the newb questions, just thought I'd ask for help/suggestions before diving in.

There's a mod manager on the nexus, but it's pretty limited right now and there's nothing really too extravagant yet to need a more robust manager.

I'm using http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35003 until kaburke is able to finish making the NV version of FOMM.

You can use the manual version of http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=944 for FO3 with New Vegas. You'll need to add it to your Fallout_default.ini in your NV folder (make a backup copy of the ini first and put it somewhere safe).

Scroll down to the [Archive] section and edit it so that it looks like this:
SArchiveList=ArchiveInvalidationInvalidated!.bsa, Fallout - Textures.bsa, Fallout - Textures2.bsa, Fallout - Meshes.bsa, Fallout - Voices1.bsa, Fallout - Sound.bsa, Fallout - Misc.bsa

Save and play.
