I think cooking should be part of Alchemy. Just makes since to me, to add it to alchemy.

New perk trees can't be utilised by existing characters of advanced levels. I would prefer the ol' New Vegas recipes as quests rewards thang, or maybe the wolf and vamp separate 'learn by doing', [you have made 500 food items, improved effects from cooking has been added to your active effects].

Food isn't for more stats boosts , Food is for not dying of hunger.

Witch doesn't happen in Skyrim. There's no real point to food, besides just adding more "stuff" to Skyrim.

I just wish i can use it more...like potions, ten points of health for goat leg roast is just sad. I wish that we had a perk tree where after cooking for a long time it can increase the health on foods

It's useless. That's what alchemy is for, it would use all the same perks as alchemy.

Do you eat a chicken leg and then find your broken leg healed after you eat it IRL? I didn't think so, that's my point. Why?

Food should be for buffs not healing. Like high end food would give you 100 health and 25% health regeneration for an hour.

I use food for both RP and non-RP reason's. IF my character doesn't use alchemy, mostly becuase they use alot of smithing & a little enchanting, They use food as a "health boost" usually Elswer fonue or chesses and other 10 to 15 point food stuffs. Yes it IS a little weird to be eating in the middle of a battle, but if 10 to 30 points isn't enough to keep them errr healthy long enough for health to regenerate or leave the "battle field", they die.

Other character's keep the types of food that would travel well, apples, horker loaf ( well I imagine it would travel well) bread, those kinds of things. They stop or take a break, what ever you want to call it and eat something and take a rest. When I go hikeing I take food and water along and stop to take a break.... so I think that my characters should as well, they are after all using more calories swinging a sword/axe/hammer,( I would think even magic would burn calories) than I do just walking.

I really wouldn't want cooking tied to Alchemy in the perk trees, it would mess up some of my RP. I can "cook" dinner, lunch or breakfast... if the character is home and NOT have to worry it is increasing skill's, it's just something that is their. You can use it or not.

I'm not even sure I would like it haveing it's own skill tree. Then you would have to worry about that skill tree lvl'ing you up just because you want to RP that your character has a half way normal life.

*sings* If it's a copout and you know it clap your hands! *silence* *crickets chirping*

No... it's a cop-in, if we're bandying about non-suitable terms.

I'd personally lean toward a system where maximum stamina decreases over time unless you eat regularly and where food does heal... and that practice in cooking results in improved food / more complicated recipes available. Maybe not have it increase alchemy, but have alchemy improve one's ability to cook and have perks that add & improve effects of food?

I like the idea oh having to eat to sustain yourself. Even having to sleep when tired. It would need to be added to a new game mode like "hardcoe mode" so players that didn't like it could still play.
