Has anyone else noticed the similarities between Euclid's C-Finder and the Hammer of Dawn?

I did think of the Hammer of Dawn but Archimedes only fires 1 small laser for 2-3 seconds.

Small laser? From what I saw, it looks bigger then HoD's laser. Only real differences I saw were the color, size and how often you can call it. Then again if you use HoD for more then 2 seconds, you're just wasting it.

And i would say the C-finder reminds me much more of the ion cannon as well(the color for example).

As for Euclid's C-Finder reminding me of the HoD, to some extent yes. Even though the HoD wasn't the first orbital laser weapon, it reminded me of it because it was the last weapon of its kind that I've used until NV.

Did anyone here play Commad & Conquer Renegade? If i recal you had to order Ion Cannon strikes in some missions. Now that's what the Archimedes should be like :shocking: Hammer of Dawn has cooler name, but just doesn't have the raw power.

How is "Archimedes" lack in coolness compare to Hammer of Dawn?

Veteran GoW2 player - yes it is like the Hammer of Dawn never thought otherwise!

Need to glitch its ammo to be more like the HoD though.

I meant cooler than "Ion Cannon", "Archimedes" is pretty nice too. Still, "Hammer of Dawn", that's just beautiful :touched:

Have to agree wholeheartedly with these two.
When I fired it, I remembered blowing up a mate's Temple of Nod in C&C (original) with the Ion Cannon before he could launch his nuke.
Ah, good times back then. When C&C wasn't, well, pants.

well except for the one the Germans wanted to build in WWII... never actually seriously planned but proposed and investigated. It would have used elemental sodium mirrors to focus light onto the earth's surface.

Sure, I thought about that.
Hammer of Dawn was more fun because NV doesn't have Carmine standing around just BEGGING to be roasted. :flame:

(OK, seriously, I roasted Dom ...but only once ...and he was asking for it.)

Also, why can't you attach a chainsaw to the bottom of your gun and cut people to pieces?

In Command & Conquer Generals, the USA faction had a particle beam super weapon that did basically the same thing. Same with the orbital weapons in Tom Clancy's: Endwar (the book was great by the way).

The idea of orbital weapons isn't exactly new or unique to a specific franchise. Hell, remember the Death Star in Star Wars?

Obviously, Gears of War invented the idea of orbital laser weaponry. It also invented guns, chainsaws, and aliens.
