I am curious as to how you Magic casting players out there, obtain your spells? Do you go out and buy them, or do you wait till you find the books and save some coin? I am not even sure if there is other ways of obtaining spells. I usually buy the Spell Books when I have the coin to do so, but ironcially, I find the Spell Books in some dungeons when I go loot hunting. I would like to know what you guys and galls do and why.

Also are scrolls really usefull? I mean they are pretty expensive that is something that is one shot use. I would think that scrolls would be cheaper since they are one time use (I could be wrong, never used them yet) and that actual Spell Tombs would be more expensive since you can use them over and over again. So do you use spells? If so why? If not why?

Just curious to see if I am missing something by not using them or not.

There are a few you HAVE to find (never sold... eg; Transmute) or quest for.... but otherwise I just buy w/e spell I want when it becomes available in the shop.

I bought them all when playing a straight-up mage. I rather enjoy just finding them on non-mage characters who dabble in spells, though. It's exciting to find one you didn't have already.

The only scrolls I ever use are the big summons (e.g., Storm Atronach). It feels really stupid and time consuming to go into a menu just to fire off a Firebolt when a sword or an arrow will certainly do more damage. I once had a great use of one of those area-effect anti-undead spells, but usually they take too long to cast to be worth it.
