For The Republic, Part 2?

Post » Wed Jun 29, 2011 4:34 pm

Okay, I've been wanting to start a topic like this for a while, but never eventually found time 'till now. Why is the quest called "For the Republic, Part 2" ? Is there a part one in an earlier Fallout game? Or what?

I strongly think that part 1 was the first battle of Hoover Dam, where General Oliver and Chief Hanlon defeated Joshua Graham

Perhaps it is a reference to something in real life, or a reference to a movie. Perhaps somebody yells in a movie" FOR THE REPUBLIC!!!!", perhaps an episode 1-3 Star Wars movie?

Aww yeah, forgot about KOTOR 2 there. Was For the Republic a quest or a quote or something?

I think it's a left behind part of For the Republic. My guess is it's the questline you get from Crocker, they just broke up the quest into more names to add flavor.

Yeah,it was on Korriban where you had the visions about the battle on dxun, the republic soldier shouted "For the republic!" and then ran into battle.

Maybe there is a "For the Republic, Part 1". I remember I accidentaly started trying to get an Independent ending, then the "Don't Tread on the Bear" quest showed up once I got Yes Man into House's systems. Part 1 might have been at the very beginning (of course, I've never began on playing through the very beginning part of the NCR ending, so please don't critzize me if I'm wrong, which I'm pretty sure I am).

Typing in "For the Republic, Part 1" at http://www.fallout.wikia.com redirects you to the Kings' Gambit quest. I think all that stuff you do for Crocker before the battle was originally called "For the Republic, Part 1" and the developers couldn't be assed to change it.

Hmm, I guess my friend was right. Obsidian is lazy as hell. :banghead:
