FOr thOse Of yOu wanting tO level enchanting...

Post » Fri Jun 01, 2012 6:30 pm

I just leveled it to 100 and i thought i'd share how. I collected 33 different items to disenchant... Make sure one of em is banish. (only reason i say banish is the fact that you get the most money for each dagger) It may be known as expelling or something else depending on the power of the enchant on the weapon you find with it. All you need to look for is "summoned daedra up to level xx are sent back to oblivion".

Without ever touching an enchanters table, my enchanting skill was 23. Thats due to skill books. Make sure you have the mage stone active. I didnt bother with the well rested bonus. I disenchanted the 33 items and that brought the skill to 47. From there, i enchated 233 iron daggers with banish.(when you enchant each one, dont forget to drag the slider all the way to right to ensure you get the highest price for each dagger) Also, dont forget you need 233 filled petty soul gems. Lol. (i bought about 70, the rest i collected myself). They are the cheapest and the amount of skill gained is not affected by the quality of the soul gem) That brought the skill to 100. That even includes one extra banish dagger for good measure.

So... I guess the point of this topic is, it was as hard as i had thought it would be. And after i was ready to disenchant and enchant, it only took about 35-45 minutes to reach 100 from 23.

Oh... And i did not use any fortify enchanting equipment or potions.. Just the mage stone.

Oh... Just another addition... Most of the 33 items i had to disenchant were pieces of armor. I add this because it seems that you gain the most skill gain from armors and clothing rather than weapons. Or maybe it's just the the quality of the enchant. Not totally sure.

In my experience the higher the quality, the more experience you get. Whether it is more advantageous to go for quality over quantity, either with funds or your time, I couldn't tell you.

I'm just putzing around disenchanting and doing a few enchants on items, and I hit 57 Enchanting. If I really tried, it's easy to hit 100. Just make sure to learn the Soultrap spell and go wolf hunting.

Yeah, i think it is based on quality. But i think with its best to just go for quantity... Chances are you'll have many of quality. I noticed you gain alot from banish, absorb health/magica, and the robes of all the magic schools. Remember that the robes with xx magica cost reduction "and" xx faster magica regen are different enchants than just the xx magica cost reduction enchants by themselves...

Exactly. Even with just 100 magica you can use the soul trap spell. In my opinion its better than the soul trap weapons.

And i honestly had a blast wandering around looking for "hostile" wildlife to soul trap. I say hostile because im not a fan of hunting harmless animals in real life. (Im a vegetarian also. Lol.) I look forward to traping more later for monetary gain... For now, im gunna work on alchemy. Haha.

Ok , the difference is with the soul gem usage between armor and weapons , then the actual quality. On a weapon you can put a really good enchant on the weapon such as banishing , paralyzing etc. but use petty or common gems for the initial charge, making available soul gems and prices way better and saving your grand gems an blacks for your personal items. Just an opinion , but usually petty's and commons can be found found in many more multiples (filled and unfilled) on vendors as any other gems.

I agree with you. But we were speaking about the skill gain and quality/quantity on DISenchants. I believe the skill gain is based more on the quality of the enchant that you're disenchanting rather than the type of item it is on.

Saying it only takes 35-45 minutes, while ignoring how long it takes to get 233 filled gems is downright silly.

Here is how I did it in 1 hour, starting with just 8 filled gems and a skill of 25:

- enchant daggers with banish using however many filled gems you have
- go to Riverwood General Trader and sell what he can buy, and buy all his filled gems (4-8) and sell more daggers now that he has money.
- wait 48 hrs as many times as needed to sell all your daggers, and buy all his filled gems each time
- enchant more daggers with the gems you bought
- go back to Riverwood and repeat until 100

It took me 1 hour and I earned 70k gold in profit. There's no need to build up a big inventory of filled gems to start the process. It is a good idea to make sure you have Banish available for enchanting to get the best gold return on your daggers. And it means you can buy any size filled gem he has for sale and still turn a profit.

At what point did i say this?

Please read carefully before making a comment. If not, you end up looking... Well... Silly.

As for what you did, i did pretty much the exact same thing. But instead of traveling here, there, everywhere, i saved in front of the merchants face, exited the game (back to dashboard-xbox) started the game again, loaded my save, sold more daggers. (little trick i figured out that refills a merchants funds without waiting... I dont like waiting-it wastes in-game days-plus, for rp reasons, my character doesnt stand in one place for 48 hours. Lol.)

With the money from the daggers, i went to the mage in dragonsreach, bought more pettys, then did my save-exit-load, bought more pettys, repeat, repeat, repeat.

Anyway, we all have our ways. And like i said... "when i was ready to disenchant/enchant it took 35 minutes.

Not the whole process. I had alot of the gems and items to enchant just from dungeon crawling and soul trapping.

Im glad your way works for you. Its a good, quick way. Thats how you did it. This post is how i did it.

Thanks.

On my original post, i meant to say "it wasnt* as hard as i thought it would be"

Also... How i got 233 daggers, is from smithing. (leveling smithing i made about 350) i actually had 501 iron daggers. (i saved some from dungeon crawling cause i wasnt sure how many i needed for enchanting) but i only needed 233 to max enchanting. But that was due to my cicumstances.
