For PC users: what timescale do you use?

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 7:11 am

I usually have it set on 5 (stock 30 is too fast for my taste), though I sometimes bring it down to 1 when I need to fast travel and not lose a couple hours, or I know when there's going to be extended play and I need daylight.

To change timescale hit the tilde or "~" key and type "set timescale to X" (without quotes and X being 1 to 30), hit enter, then the ~ key to close the trouble-shooter (I haven't tried a timescale over 30).

Five is what I always use as well. Just for the record, the default in Skyrim is 20, not 30.

I also use 5. It seems a good balance.

Also using 5, if I ever decide to be a vampire, I'll put it to 1 probably (and then sleep/wait during daytime).

The standard is far too fast. I'd always have to rest/wait when getting back in to town because shops would be closed.

You guys lighten my mind. I'll set my timesacale to 5 for I am an assassin and loves night kills.

Huh, it may just be me... but I find the default a little too slow.

When i'm roleplaying I like to walk from place to place, eat and such, and generally live. Skyrim is suppose to be massive, so even crossing it in a few days on foot somewhat whacks the immersion, but Oblivion I could deal with it. With the default timescale I could walk from Anvil to around Kvatch between morning and evening. If I stopped for 'breaks' and such, then a trip across Cyrodiil could take four to five days. This, while still 'fast', was managable.

In Skyrim I find myself wondering when the evening is going to arrive because i'm coverng waaaay too much ground. I can cover the landmass in two ingame days walking, I believe.

Now, either Skyrim is substantially smaller than Cyrodiil, or the timescale is slower.

I'm feeling that Skyrim is smaller. Thoughts?
