I tried completing this quest a couple of days ago, then I ran into some sort of glitch were when you kill Mikul Gaulderson, his body is unlootable. Bethesda said that happens when you kill him by sneaking. I didn't, I just attacked him with the Ebony Blade, and he dies. Then there is a pointer on his body for me to get Gaulder Fragment, I can't

It's also a bit annoying that you can't complete the quest without joining the Mages' College in Winterhold. What are people supposed to do if they complete 2/3rds of the quest, then find out - by looking on the internet, because the information is not anywhere in the game - that one of the three dungeons is locked and can only be entered as one of the Mages' College quests, but they aren't a mage and have no intention of being one?
