Forced to start a new game

Well I've finally had enough of the complete lockups, I've decided to start a new game, while I really didn't want to and do not look forward to being incredibly weak and perkless again I do actually want to be able to play my game. Can anyone give me any tips on how to keep my save file down so I don't experience the Bloated Save File glitch again ? I've heard about turning all the autosaves off, is this recommended ? Also about refraining from picking items up that aren't in chests and leaving things lying around or storing loads of stuff in chests. Will refraining from doing these things help ? I only managed to get to 302 hours in my last save, I'm really hoping this one doesn't end up ruined.

I'm also really pissed I've had to start a new game right before the DLC.

-Disable all autosaves, get used to saving manually and regularly.
-Save in different slots.
-Do not overwrite, but delete an old save as you make a new one.
-Keep your total number of saves low. About a dozen max.

-Youre going to have to play janitor for a bit, at least until 1.6. Pick every nirnroot as soon as you see it and pick up the weapons enemies drop on death. Nirnroot has a problem with stacking glows and fallen weapons do not despawn, both contribute to save game bloating.

-Every once in a while it may help to wait 31 days in a small interior cell, to allow all other cells to reset.

Thanks for the advice.

They should really have a warning in the manual about this save crap, I had no idea when I began playing, 300 hours wasted.
