Forelhost Dungeon

You hear about the Dragon Cults back in the first era, but you don't know how really ....uh....crazy they are until you explore their last stronghold.

This plays out as a normal dungeon, until you come across Snow-Strider's journal. Upon reading you find out the army was in the middle of destroying the Snow Elves, but learned that the so called extinct Dragon Cult(s) were not wiped out, there was one last place they found sanctuary, Forelhost.

But it gets worse, The Dragon Cult seems to indicate they were nothing more then a "Kool-Aide" Cult (use Google if you do not understand that). They barricaded themselves in the sanctuary to keep Snow Strider's army from entering.

The worse part is as you get deep into the dungeon you find out the children went first, then the advlts. But of course one Dragon Cultist did not like the plan and you see what the Dragon Priest, Rahgot's did to her or ordered to be done to her.

I love finding old information from other eras in dungeons, this should happen more often, gives you a better in-sight of what people were like and sometimes throw you for a loop not expecting them to be that bad.

This is the best dungeon by far in the game, if you have not done this dungeon, go, do it now! (It's south of Riften and East of Nightingale Hall, up the mountain).

I remember this one, definitely an interesting backstory in this one. I shuddered when I came upon that mass grave of children and the journals really gave some good insight into this particular dragon cult at least and the depths of their madness.

That's one thing Skyrim does amazingly well though, the dungeons are all masterfully handcrafted and interesting. And this one was one of the better ones.
