Fortify Enchanting Question

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 9:12 pm

Is there any gear that does this?

I've done some light searching and the wikis only mention potions.

I asked the same question couple of days back and the answer was no. You can only do it through Alchemy unfortunately.

Yeah, the devs realised what would happen if they added in fortify enchanting gear.

Still, the whole concept of making sure the game is compleatly balanced is absurd to me. Sure, if you could two-hit anything with an iron dagger I would find it unacceptable, but to scrap chameleon and the making of super-weapons and gear? It's not like certain playstyles become impossible to use for those wanting a challenge, it just means some people can't make a fun save.

In a sence, the people that campaign against that stuff should ultimatly be campaigning against console commands and whatnot, as you don't even need to engauge anything in combat, make any armour or even collect a soul gem to play the PC version of the game in compleate easy mode, all it would take is a quick line of text you could find on a guide website.

I kinda' figured. Thanks, y'all. :P

I'm not trying to make super-powerful gear, but I want to maximize my enchants. For example, I've got a couple of Fortify Smithing items I wear when I smith, but I don't wear a bunch of gear and use potions to get to the possible +246% or WTFever it is.

start whit maxing your alchemy, enchanting and blacksmithing.
1. create an armor set whit fortify alchemy and wear it.
2. create some fortify enchanting potions
3. create a new and better set of fortify alchemy and wear it
4. create some new and better fortify enchanting potions.
5. create your fortify blacksmithing armor

that makes sure you get the best gear there is.

Where is the best place to find enchanters potions?
I've only found two in game so far and I've used them both because I couldn't resist.

Fortify enchanting ingredients are
Blue butterfly wing
Hargraven claw
Snowberries
Spriggan sap

Finding ready made potions is completely random , I've had some luck getting them from the alchemist in Whiterun .

Yeah, can someone 'answer' that, please? I was gonna ask before I start Enchating my gear. I suspect 25% is max thought because I haven't seen any Resists on gear stronger than that...I don't think.

You have to take fortify enchanting potion before you use the enchanting table. They only last 30 seconds and at best I've only been able to enchant 4 gear max with one potion. Also spending perks on the Enchanting Tree will get you better results as well, but I think there is a limit.

Here is proof.

Thses jewerly were created without even the Alchemy Exploit, but just using vanila Enchanter's Elixir with Enchanting perks fully maxed out.

Best way to exploit fortify crafting loops is to exploit that Fortify Restoration applys to Fortify Alchemy and it applys to effects on items:

1) Make 25% Fortify Alchemy for all available body parts
2) Equip Fortify Alchemy Gear
4) Make Fortify Restoration Potion
5) Unequip Fortify Alchemy Gear
6) Drink Fortify Restoration Potion
7) Re-Equip Fortify Alchemy Gear
8) Make a new higher power Fortify Restoration Potion
9) Unequip Fortify Alchemy Gear
10) Drink Higher power Fortify Restoration Potion (effect stacks with old
11) Wait for older Fortify Restoration effect to end (check active effects!).
12) Goto step 7 and repeat till your percentages get as high as you like
13) Make as many fortify Enchanting Potions that you can.
14) Enchant ultra high fortify smithing and fortify alchemy gear as well as any other items
15) Smith items to rediculous levels

Note about step 7: Fortify restoration potions only effects the magnitude of fortify alcmehmy enchantments on items IF the fortify restoration effect is active when the item gets equppied. The enhanced fortify alcmehmy effect will last indefinitly until the items are unequipped regardless of how long the fortify restoration effect latsts
Note about step 10 and 11: Even though fortify restoration potions stack with themselves, only the effect given by the oldest poition will be used. The seconds potions effect will only be used after the first potion has worn off. So to maximize benefit if you take a second potion while the first is still active (second potions power will be increased by the first potions effect), but only requip your gear when the first potion has run out.

End results if you repeat steps 7 - 12 enough times
