Fortify One-Handed enchant and Daggers

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 10:14 pm

After enchanting my jewelry with Fortify One-Handed I noticed that the damage on daggers stayed the same while it increased on every other onehanded weapon. I've tried unequipping and re-equipping the item to confirm and it didn't change unfortunately. I've also checked the damage with different types of daggers and it didn't increase on any of them. Is this intended or is it a bug?

Gameplay wise it's not a big issue since the backstab sneak multipliers for daggers are already ridiculously high, but it would still be nice to know :).

I tested this with Potion of Fortify One-Handed as well, same thing. Damange on all one-handed weapons except daggers increases. Same with Potion of the Warrior, which has the same effect...

I have the same problem like Bawtzki with my Khajiit patched 1.03. I really hope it's a small bug between daggers and fortify one-handed effects and Bethesda takes care of this problem as soon as possible, or they give any replies us at least.

I believe this is intended.

On the flip side, wearing the DB gloves and having the relevant sneak perks will grant you massive (30x) backstabs to only daggers.

Whether it's just a glitch or intended, Bethesda still has to do something about it because no matter how potentially strong daggers are, it doesn't cause for excepting daggers from this effect without any explaining within the game. So I just hope they'd find this topic and work it out, at least after their holidays.

Shadowstrike is a special enchantment for a thief character, does that increase daggers? Because if it does, that would make sense as its a thief/assasin enchantment.

i believe the fortify one handed enchant only works for swords, maces and axes. on the flip side they dont get bonuses from the stealth perk tree for assaination. i guess they were meant to be stealth kill weapons. daggers i mean.

It's a bug that's been there since 1.0.

Actually other one handed weapons do get the 6x sneak multiplier perk in the sneak tree.

So all this time I've been wearing a 25% to 1h attack necklace that has been doing nothing? Great.

I'm sorry about you. As for me, I was very disappointed when I put on a +30% one-hand ring, backstabbed a giant and I first found it didn't change anything before and after! I worked so hard to pickpocket this ring, I'm still wandering around Whiterun in the early stage, though ;)
