Fortify One Handed Weapon Cap?

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 10:20 am

If I use the fortify restoration glitch, is there a cap on the fortify one handed weapon enchantment? I need to use the glitch like 3 times cause the weapon cant be smithed. Im only trying to reach 150+ damage.

No, there is no cap. You can have over a billion damage, a billion health, a billion stamina, etc. The knly caps are armor and magic resistance.

Oh ok. Thank you very much. This is the only way to make the Ebony Blade a viable weapon. I only want it to be on the level of a legitimately maxed out Blades sword beefed with the alchemy/enchanting/smithing loop with one use of a fortify restoration potion. Im assuming the potion is only supposed to be used once.

The damage increase doesnt go off the chart with 2 or 3 uses does it?

You gotta deliberately go insane with the numbers. You'll be fine if you hold yourself back.

My enchanted ring of carry weight/fortify 1 handed has insane numbers, and everything's fine.
It's so insane that its value is like negative 300 million.

You should be able to improve the Ebony Blade with Arcane Blacksmith, no?

No. Lol.

You can't improve Ebony Blade at all via Smithing.

Geez....just saw a video of the restoriation glitch on Youtube.... That is bananas.

Why would restoration effect alchemy and such like that? Probably something to do with being to "spreadsheety", so it will probably be removed in VI.

Well Im happy. Got the Ebony Blade to 170 damage +30 Life Absorb with unlimited charges by using this glitch. That's probobly the damage it would do if it could be smithed anyways. The Mace of Molag Bal reaches 184 damage without this glitch.

Glad it worked out for you. I actually just tried this myself today, and at first it was fun one-shotting everything with an arrow and never taking damage, it got boring quick. I think I'll reload a save and only use the exploit to enchant a few rings and necklaces with fortify health/stamina/one-handed/archery/sneak and leave my equipment alone. That was I can equip/unequip the jewelry as I see fit without permanently altering my nightingale armor.

Yeah I just used it like a mod to fix it really. I left everything else alone. I only used the enchanting/alchemy/smithing loop with all the other stuff, like +72 health, +72 majicka, +72 stamina, regeneration, +23% majicka resistance, so on and so forth.

I got the jack of all trades Imperial. They can do it all, so I made him an assassin who's also a master of destruction and restoration, but unfortunetely a bug isnt letting me buy the Guardian Circle spell from Colette at the Mages College.

He sports the Ebony Mail and often uses the Shadow Warrior perk and destruction cloaks to stack with the armor's poision enchantment. This is a really nasty dude. He looks cool with the flame and lightning cloaks too.

Actually, that's a pretty creative way to "fix" the "non-upgradable" Ebony Blade. Kudos to you!

Yeah and the best part is I just did the calculation for it's smithing upgrade and 170 (with +47% fortify one handed enchantment included) and I came up with 171. I dont know if I did it right though. The Mace of Malag Bal maxes out at 178 with +47% fortify one handed weapon damage, not 184 like I said before, so my damage should be what it's supposed to be or close to it.
