forum scrolling lags w/ mousewheel

Post » Fri Dec 09, 2011 10:11 am

I've always had an issue with scrolling on this forum, it's always really laggy but only when I use the mouse wheel and not using the scrollbar on the right side. Anyone know a possible way to fix this? Is it some setting in my browser or mouse? Confused.

Try turning off smooth scrolling in the Firefox advanced settings.

Could also try using the IP. Board theme. Much nicer looking than the default theme IMO.

Tried this. It works well enough in a single thread but when looking at a forum it's still laggy.

There are a LOT of transparent and gradient resources on the default forum theme. It was even worse when they first changed over to the new look. Very CPU intensive compared to other websites.

Anyways if you want to eliminate it completely you need to either get a faster computer, or dig around and find some of the old theme change threads. Some people were able to use browser functions to completely overhaul the look of the forums, which also improves performance.

Wait what? It works fine with the scrollbar on the right side, I just would rather scroll with the mousewheel.

Your eyes will adjust. ;) And it's a lot better than looking at the default theme everyday.

Too bright.

Most websites use a white theme though. Google, Youtube, Facebook, Amazon, Wikipedia... if anything the default theme is too dark.

It's like... How much more black could it be? ? And the answer is none, none more black.

That's what Stlyish (firefox, chrome -- Opera has the feature built in :P) is for

Tweaked mine for light blues and greens based off the other colors of the IP.Board theme.

I don't really mind the default one, wish I could have the old tan back but I'll live. I'm normally on my phone anyways, so I get the IP mobile theme in all its white blinding glory.
