Forum Style Alterations

DEFRON has better info.

There is one more I can't figure out how to keep edited

.tab_bar li a {
color: #c3c3c3;
text-decoration: none;

:brokencomputer:

That is the about me/topics/post in the user profile (see it in http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b195/DEFRON/Desktop/userprofiletancssnormalopera.jpg, the rest of the gray text in that picture I changed already. Edit: Oh, that is the old picture, which is why it looks bad). It may be because I made a few other modifications to the theme, in which case no one else should be experiencing it.

Oh, and the div#secondary_nav should look like this for those who were wondering:

/* * == BREADCRUMB TRAIL == */div#secondary_nav{  height: 23px !important;  color: #503800 !important;  background-color: #efe8d5 !important;  background-image: none !important;  border-style: solid !important;  border-color: #503800 !important;  border-width: 1px !important;    margin-top: 3px !important;  margin-bottom: 15px !important;/*  margin-top: -30px !important;*/}

Edit: :facepalm: I feel stoopid. I forgot to add !important, which is why I couldn't get it to save. Just throw in

.tab_bar li a{
color: #000 !important;
}

I have updated my changes from above. Note that these are to be added to the end of Qazaaq's sheet -- I have not edited his styles anywhere.

I would say change tab_bar li a to black, not brown. When it is brown it is near-impossible to read, so you know.

Yeah, I can't get that one to look quite right. Either the selected one looks right and the other two don't, or it's the opposite. I ultimately just removed the background color; now you can tell which is active by virtue of it being bold. Not ideal but better than dark text on a dark background.

Huh, Opera doesn't have that problem. Tried it in Firefox and sure enough the background color around the active one disappeared.

Maybe because I found tab_bar li a using dragonfly, maybe in Firefox/Chrome they have some other thing related to it I didn't see. Someone maybe should check it out in firebug.

The bar on the top of the settings page uses the same class. How does that look for you?

I am running a few things different, but I doubt that could have an effect on it

The black link on the brown background was really hard to see on my monitor. I guess that's the greatest thing about these changes; everyone can tweak things just so.

Thanks again Qazaaq for the effort you put into making this stylesheet!

Does anybody know if anything like NoSquint exists for Chrome, or will I have to give FF another shot?

This is great work! I'm running the tan style and the scrolling lag is gone. Plus there's that nice dose of tan nostalgia, from before I started using the grey skin.

:D Oh, wow. I go to sleep, and that's what I find when I wake up. It's like having private little elves fixing everything around. :P

Seriously, this is amazing. May I just ask you to continue to be very specific as to where and how add the modifications ? I don't know anything myself about these codes, I would not have a clue.

If the guy that's done the new forums sees that, I wonder what he's thinking... :lol:

*edit* Hmm. I've installed the latest tan version, with Defron's correction, and Firefox doesn't stop bugging me about a forum script that doesn't answer : "/prettify/prettify.js:36" or something of that kidney. Any ideas ?

Must be this: http://www.gamesas.com/public/js/3rd_party/prettify/prettify.js or this: http://www.gamesas.com/public/js/3rd_party/prettify/lang-sql.js

Interesting, I have no problem with my CSS in Opera 10.10 or Firefox 3.6. In Firefox, I just checked, and indeed both of those javascripts load without an issue.

What version of Firefox are you using and on what OS?

Also try the vanilla Qazaaq one http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1081516-forum-style-alterations/page__view__findpost__p__15755423 and see if you still have the issue (my changes are very superficial, so I don't see how they could cause the problem, but just in case)

As to how we are doing it: I am using Dragonfly, which is a developer tool for Opera. Usually I only use it to pull pranks only I can see.

Yep.

I'm updating to the latest firefox right now, and I'm on XP.

Didn't do that for a few minutes now... This could be totally on my end, I've had weirdom with my firefox these last weeks - when I close a firefox window, the process sometimes is still running, so I have to go through procexp to kill it, otherwise it goes on and I can't re-open firefox.

I'll tell if it reappears, just wanted to mention that oddity. Aaaaand once again, I am soooo happy with tan. :wub:

Yup, same here, seems it isn't an isolated incident.

using the latest FF on Windows 7 64 bit. Awesome work though guys, I look forward to using the tan version if I can resolve this black box issue.

Well, I'm pulling us back about twenty steps, but I only just got around to doing this. I installed Stylish for Firefox, but when I go to create a new theme, I don't have the option to choose it for just this site. If I go ahead and create it, every site gets the theme. What do I do?

This is the ugliest thing I've ever seen. A mess if you ask me! It's makes my head spin if I look at it, just like an illusion spell and a damn good one.

I think the "constructive criticism" rule applies to every post on this forum. :stare:

Thanks again, Qazaaq, for all your hard work. I for one love it.

Well, I'm pulling us back about twenty steps, but I only just got around to doing this. I installed Stylish for Firefox, but when I go to create a new theme, I don't have the option to choose it for just this site. If I go ahead and create it, every site gets the theme. What do I do?

Bottom right-hand corner of FF, little magnifying glass thing. Left-clicking on it brings up a menu which should alter only the site you have open. There's also a button for editing the global settings.

The tan setup is very well made :nod:, but if there was a layout of similar quality based on the old green skin, I'd switch to that immediately (+1 vote for a green one, if someone who actually has skills is willing to waste their precious time on it :P).

EDIT: I said it in another thread, but will repeat it here.
Many thanks to all who put the time and effort into helping to make the forums bearable again.
