Is Forza 4 broken?

Post » Fri Dec 09, 2011 9:43 am

So I recently purchased Forza 4 and it's an amazing game, but here's where I think it's broken. In the very first season I was able to purchase a Dodge Viper (you'd think I'd have to work my way up to afford an expensive sports car...I had some extra credits because I imported my Forza 3 file, but still) and once I selected it as my car the races that it offered me in World Tour mode were A class races. So when the narrator is all like 'now you'll be racing against slightly faster and more competitive cars' in season two (or something like that) in reality I'm racing against Corvettes and the like in my A class Viper. Where's the progression? I can afford an R class car right now and I'm only at the beginning of the 3rd season and I've been driving the Viper ever since season 1 because why would I go back to a D class or C class car after getting my dream car? It's kind of upsetting that I could go right out and buy my dream car without any effort, or any feeling of working my way up to it.

I'm probably going to drive the Viper for the rest of the game. I know I can select another car and do other types of races, but why drive slow? Why downgrade now? So....thoughts?

I also find myself wanting to get the DLC car packs, but again the Viper is my favorite car so I'm not sure if I'd even drive anything else.

It isn't broken, you just spent your money on a higher class car. I had an R1 when I imported my stuff from Forza 3 and I didn't think it was broken.

Either you're good at the game, playing on a low difficulty, or just have a faster car than everyone else.

EDIT: Also, only using one car is no fun, the first thing I did was go out and buy my favorite car of all time (Nissan R34 Skyline), but I hardly use it anymore.

If you wanted progression then why import your save, it starts you with more stuff than normal right?

Also this. It's more fun to have a garage full of unique cars in these kind of games.

Yes it gives you a few cars and some credits based on how far you got in Forza 3 (I got like 40,000 credits). But still the Viper was only 44,000 credits and I can make that after winning just a handful of races. I think credits should equate to dollars and it should've at least been 80,000 or something...

I don't have any complaints about it because it means I can get more cars for less cash and spend more time painting them and racing them.

Awesome, I just got points for renewing my annual live fee so I can get that December car pack, you just reminded me Peace. Thanks!

I can now build up my secret bad car favorite..the Fiero!

Also to you OP. Forza 4 isn't really about progression in the sense you're making it out to be. You can race any type of race during your season, as you rank up. It depends on what car you are in really. It's best to try out a wide range of different cars or your favorites (helps to have multiple favorites of course) so you can enjoy different races at different class levels. I've also taken to actually letting myself lose some races (besides the last of the season), which makes it a bit more fun for me as I'm not winning all the time and sometimes gotta really fight for that first place..though it seems like the car in front of me is way too far ahead for what it is a lot of the time.

for a different experience or do what i did in Forza Motorsport 1 : Take the crapiest peice of crap in the game and enter a race and go the wrong way down the track to see all the havoc one could wreak XD

I wish still had my old x-box have no racing games on 360 and too many other games i want to be able to pick up a racing game :/
