FOUND a pair of dragonscale boots?!

Post » Thu May 31, 2012 7:12 pm

Ustengrav or however you spell it. The chest under the spiral staircase leading down to the entrance. Had some coin and a pair of dragonscale boots. I was under the impression that you could only obtain that armor through crafting. I realize people will scream "pic or it didn't happen" but we all know how easy this would be to fake. I'm honestly just wondering if you can find this armor in the "wild" or if it was just some random bug.

You can find Dragonscale/bone items after you reach a certain level but they are quite rare, I've only ever found a Dragonbone helm.

I found a dragonscale chest armor in the wild. I think it was a chest armor, anyway.
I was a really low level, too. Probably just insane luck. :)

You can find any kind of armor or weapon, though your level determines what it'll be, and the higher-tier items will be rarer than lower-tier.

I mostly find everything glass and lower for light, and ebony and lower for heavy. Once in a rare while, I've found a couple Daedric items, and only one dragonscale shield. At level 80 now, it's definitely proven rare to find Daedric or dragon-related gear for me.

Ok well good to know. I have been stock piling dragonbones and scales as I feel my character should be the ONLY one in existence known to have a set of dragon armor. Now that I know it exists outside my own creation, I can go get rid of all those bones and scales! $$$$$$$

Thanks for the replies

I just wish they could be used to make weapons, as well.

I would have liked to have seen just a few more sub-classes of weaponry and armor types.

I guess that'll be DLC for me.

Don't get rid of all your scales - you'll need them for upgrading your armor.

Just because you've found one piece doesn't mean you will find more anytime soon, it is quite rare.

I found a light dragon scale armor at 50-51 level. As I don't take smithing perks, it was a nice find.

You will be lucky to find anywhere NEAR close to a full set of dragon armor or deadric. I recommend trying to just make it yourself if you really want it.
