Found something-finally underwater.

Coming south into Ivranstead (sp), go across the stone bridge.

You can either choose to leap off the right side of the bridge or go forward and take a right pass the bridge.

You'll see a falling tree on the bank of the river, don't go past this. Instead go into the water and underneath about 5-10 feet from the stone bridge, there is skeleton laying on the river bed with a satchel on it's waist. Inside is a crap load of NICE alchemy ingredients (some rare if your lucky) and a named (non-magical) necklace.

Not sure if this is related to a quest, but a quest did not pop up when grabbing the necklace. But still worth it for all the nice ingredients I got :D.

There is an underwater Cairn also (the entrance is blocked off so you can't get in). It's ... I totally forgot where it is but there is a chest underwater with random loot and a few skeletons. It wasn't on the coast I think it was in a riverbed.

The chest for Treasure Map X is also underwater assuming you are not suffering from the treasure map glitch that does not spawn chests. There is also another underwater chest near this one which has some lesser loot.

There is also a nice chest underwater near the East Empire Trading Company ship and dock in Solitude.

It is, and picking up the necklace before you have the quest makes it so you cannot complete the quest. *Unless that was changed in 1.2...I kind of doubt it. It's not a big deal, the quest, though you can get some really creepy ingredients from a "harmless" nutjob, is just a minor sidequest.

I'm of the opinion that all the tragic death's probably weren't all that accidental.

there's a little underwater item near the beginning...after you clear out the place that has the dragonstone (name escapes me) and you take the backdoor out to the lake...if you go straight in where there are a few stones just breaching the surface you can dive down and find some clams and a chest. nothing spectacular.

In the ocean to the north between winterhold and dawnstar iirc is an under sea trench. Has about 3 or 4 sunken ships and a few chests with random loot. Nothing unique as far as I can remember. It's been a while.

Definitely need waterbreathing to get there though, as it's fairly deep water.

well sadly beth forget how good these things were back in morrowind.

anyone remember the place where the dragonbone cuirass (artifact) back then was hidden? NO hints on it. NO quest for it. hidden at the EDGE of the world basicly and underwater dungeon.

or boethias shrine which was completly underwater and cracked up. you really had to dive deep to find things like this. gosh i loved that. but we will never see something like this ever again outside of mods... since beth loves thier new (since oblivion) random level based loot chest and itemsystem.... they actually think its good system while it svckS badly...

I would pay for a Morrowind updated with modern graphics. I miss flying by places and bombing them with magic.

Well, both systems have pros and cons.

Hand-Placed Powerful Artifacts:

- Every Level 1 Character could simply go there pick it and use it form the begin to the end of the game (Con)
- It made exploration (at least the first time) rewarding (Pro)
- Some Artifacts had unique effects (Pro)
- Some Artifacts didn't had any quests, some of them even had books about them (Pro)

Random-Generated Average Item:

- It's leveled, meaning that at a Boss' Chest you will find something good for your level 1 character, but not always in the same place so you can just pick it up every time. (Pro)
- It made exploration (for the sake of collecting) unrewarding (Con)
- The Items have Generic Enchanted Effects. (Con)
- Almost all Artifacts have quests around them so you don't miss it. (Con)

What's funny is that the mistake of making the waterfall too long and extend into the water actually looks closer to what you'd actually see:

Even without using a different texture (should be air bubbles forced downward - so an air-fountain rather than a water-fall) it does actually better resemble reality. Since I doubt many people have had a clear view of a waterfall from underneath the water though, all it does is look like a mistake (which is kind of more important since that breaks immersion more.)

Find something once in a while maybe. More often it's inferior to whatever I'm using and only serves to give me more coin than I otherwise would've gained.

That's pretty cool. And I was serious. I've been searching underwater in these games since MW. I find very little but for some reason the water seems like it could be hiding so much....

I think the sad part is how people forget how bad things were back in Morrowind.

I found a chest under water. I'm at work so I am unable to look at my map. It is the cave (most east part of the map above Riften) when you enter there is a dead body hanging over a log and you follow the water back up to an apparent dead (rrom with a bandit and a chest and ore to mine) end that has a small water falls. However you can climb up the glitchy left side. It leads to another area occupied by the Falmer. You appear in the middle of a huge cavern so I jumped off in to the water and was looking around for the purpose of this room. I haven't found out why yet as there is no other way in and nothing else there but a few other Falmer. The chest was roughly straight from the only exit point in the water. This exit just leads back up to the original area I jumped from. Anyone else find this or know what this room is for???
