Fps Boost out of nowhere ?

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 11:10 am

Hi...

Today morning I was suddenly having 10 fps more as usually.. I cant really explain how that happened, but as a friend told me also yesterday night experienced a fps boost I am more curious now... did we got a ninja update? ^^

Anyone else experiencing this or maybe something else its about my game and a coincidence about my friend.

thanks.

can it be that you reached the 10 in-game days bodies reset that cleans the cells from dropped stuff and corpses?

in the eralier version of the game it was 30 days, I think they lowered it to 10 in update 1.4

I think it doesn't matter much where you are

Nvidia updated there drivers yesterday, he might have them on auto-update? (if he runs Nvidia) there newest drivers are getting Rave reviews on most game techniqual forums atm as a driver hasnt made FPS boost this much since....well ever. especially for skyrim.

Hmmm. Interesting Information, but I think i can rule that out since I used my "fps test" save, which neither progress nor gets resaved... or does it affect als saves?

Edit: I have an Ati card.

I just put in the nvidia drivers, on an old GT 9600 card, and it's a relatively massive boost. I'm about to plug in the hi-res graphics and see if they run with it.

ah ATI, not the Nvidia update then thats only for Nvidia cards.

perhaps the game has reset the majority of its Cells i hear this reduces file size and lag quite considerably and regardless of what people say cleaning your Cache does help if only an extreamly minor improvement, every little helps!

I noticed a boost last night, but I`m pretty sure it was due to my graphics card update. I don`t stay 24\7 connected to Steam (a bad habit in my view) so i know it wasn`t Steam.

I think a cell reset cleaning up up crap is a possible cause.

thats a point i cant stress that enough if your are constantly connected to steam make sure to go into offline mode it just overall works better on most games in my experience.

Holy crap! My FPS are freaking awesome.

I was so disappointed when my second 5870 started to wink out. I needed both in Crossfire to get decent FPS level with the HD pack, on Ultra at 1920x1200, 8AA, 16AF, shadow detail= medium.

After reading this thread I decided to go see how my game would run. (I got 1.4, and new GPU drivers since my last play session.) To my amazement, I get 60 FPS 99.9% of the time......on 1 card. :) If I turn quickly, it can still dip into the 30's but it bounces back to 60 pretty quickly.

The "Whiterun stair FPS drop" issue non-existent now! :celebration: (60 to 30 FPS on the stairs to the castle when turning back to look at the business section of town.)

Sweet! I can go back to playing.

Not sure if that's an open question or directed at the OP but I'm using nothing beta.

I wasn't invited to a Skyrim beta.
