FPS issues, are they going to fix it?

I knew there were bug issues with Fallout New Vegas from reading the initial reviews but I though they would be patched by now so I just got the game. It's been over two months since the games release and it seems super buggy. I am very surprised and disappointed by this. The main bug that is keeping me from playing it is FPS issue. The game is so choppy that I can barely play it. I loved Fallout 3 and didn't have many issues with it. So far I am really disappointed. Are they actually working on fixing this?

yea, then after all of this. they want 10 more dollars for the dlc. they have not apologized or anything, they treat us like little cash machines.
they could have given us the lousy dlc and said here is something free for paying 70 to 120 dollars for that did not work when we released it.
I didn't buy the DLC and i don't plan on buying it. as you can see from the tons of reports already it is a buggy POS tooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bethesda has become a bunch of thieves and jerks, or incompetent baboons. i can't tell which.

I don't know if you guys are playing from the DVD or hard drive, or if you've tried clearing the cache etc.
I'm playing it on a 120GB HD 360, and have experience very few problems. Certainly no frame rate issues except one location in the mountains.
Seems strange to have choppy graphics, as that's not been amongst the flood of complaints about bugs in the game!

I installed it to the hard drive on Sunday and tried to play it. It was super choppy so I stopped and went back to Black Ops.

This review mentions frame rate issues on the Xbox 360 http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/rpg/falloutnewvegas/review.html?om_act=convert&om_clk=gssummary&tag=summary;read-review&page=2&tag=stitialclk;gamespace.
Quote from the review: " In addition, the longer you play, the slower the frame rate gets (on the Xbox 360), or the more noticeable the screen tearing and frequent pauses become (on the PlayStation 3). These are but a small number of the major bugs we encountered. Fallout: New Vegas is a technical mess."

I don't understand why some of the bugs only seem to affect some 360s - maybe it's got to do with the model, though I doubt it.

I've been playing for over 60 hours, and haven't noticed any frame rate or screen tearing issues (apart from the one I mentioned above).

Your only option may be to delete everything associated with F:NV and start again (game saves, the cache etc).

I agree it svcks, and you have my sympathy... :cryvaultboy:

I'll try clearing the game cache and see if that will work. If not, I will uninstall it and reinstall it.

How far are you into the game? B/c when i first got it i had no fps lag whatsoever. It started to happen and has gotten worse and worse the more i play. Does anyone know when we should expect another update?

UPDATE: I hadn't thought of this before but.. what changes the further you get in the storyline? one thing would be the number of saves you have on your system... maybe deleting some old saves might speed it up a bit.. is anyone else noticing the game lag more and more the further you get?

I've put in nearly 90 hours with the first (and only) character I created, and have been playing Dead Money now for about 5/6 hours. I also have over 40 saves, which I do reuse by saving over (and not deleting them first).
I noticed a slight frame rate stutter in one building in DM last night, but it was only for about a minute.

As I've said on at least one other thread, I do find the issues that some people have with this game, on both the 360 and PS3, puzzling.

I can understand different bugs affecting PC users, but as every 360 and PS3 is essentially the same hardware apart from HDD capacity, I don't understand why everyone doesn't experience the same problems. And I'm not talking about quest/scripting issues, which may only show up in certain cases, but fundamental problems such as the DLC error, and not being able to start the game at all, or it crashing regularly.

I think this is something that Bethesda/Obsidian do need to look into.

It would be good if they could contact one of the forum members who's had major, recurrent problems, and check out their console to see what the issues really are (and perhaps give them a brand spanking new one in exchange!). Probably won't happen though ...
