Frame Flutter Glitch?

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 11:06 pm

hi dovahs,

I'm having a weird graphical glitch at the moment. I'm not sure what is causing it but it's most troublesome in exterior worldspaces and light saturation tends to make the problem worse. if you listen carefully you can hear a flickering noise which seems to align with the fluttering of the frames.

There are no mods except for director's tools and I'm 99% sure that isn't the case (infact i tested it without DT and it still had this issue). I'm planning on doing some high resolution film projects in the coming weeks/months and having this issue literally ruins any chance of that happening.

I'd very much like to know what is causing this issue and whether a simple reinstall will fix it. Thanks!

ps. I have a video to demonstrate. It's running on ultra settings with an ENB pack that isn't causing the problem. this is also a lower quality export to save on video size and upload time.

Hey Logam,

Well, for one, make sure your video drivers are up to date. If anything, maybe reinstall the drivers completely.. to see if that provides a fix. Also, look into forcing vsync off. There should be a thread about it somewhere, I'm sure. You have to do it in the INI. Another thing to try is to mess with the AA and FXAA settings, because those seem like they'd most likely be the culprit if it was a graphical setting.

Good luck!

I have the latest drivers for my computer and it's only Skyrim that this issue is happening. I think I'll just do a fresh install, I was planning on making a new character soon anyway.

Well Skyrim syncs your saves, plus a fresh install wouldn't kill them anyway.
