In the Movies section Fraps, make sure the "Record External Input" is unchecked. http://i438.photobucket.com/albums/qq102/Starforce9/FrapsSettings.jpg

Mine doesn't have that option. Is it because I'm using XP?

No, what version of Fraps are you using? It would probably be somewhere along the lines of Record External Input.

That's weird maybe they changed the settings in the newer version. I'm using 3.4.3 and I have the option. Maybe it's the "use windows input" option? Try it and see I guess.

What about just muting the mic through either a hardware button or through the drivers or disabling it when using Fraps through the drivers?

I've tried that and it doesn't record any sound then.

Can you unplug the mic? That would probably be the easiest option unless it's a built in mic.

I can, and I've tried that. I've also tried changing it to RealTek imput (not output option) and that doesn't do anything either. :(

I thought you problem was unwanted input from the mic? How does unplugging it not solve it? I must be missing something here..

Well the way I have it now, when recording a vid in Fraps, it only records the video and what my mic is picking up. When I unplug the mic, it just records the video, but no sound.
