Right, so.... this is a thread of a different variety. To start off, I have a story to tell.

Its 5 in the morning and I can't sleep, so im just talking to a friend on the phone. I tell her to get some sleep since she hasn't slept in two days. Now, my friend has sleep paralysis problems and tends to hallucinate. Demons, things like that.

So thirty minutes into her sleep, all is calm... then suddenly from my phone a [censored] wail that sounds like a combination of a tornado and a car crashing turned into a scream emits from my speakers. I piss myself and jump up. At first I thought maybe she screamed in her sleep, but.... that isn't a scream any human can pull off.

She woke up five or six minutes later (due to me freaking the hell out) and I asked her if she heard the scream... wail... whatever you want to call it. Apparently she didn't. About twenty minutes later I have her set the phone down and sure enough, big bad scream.


So we freak out about it for a bit, after a hour we decide maybe I was just hearing things dueto lack of sleep, so I go get some rest.




Fast forward eleven hours. Im on the phone with her again. Sometimes when my friend talks, I can kind of here a little girl (with a echoL in the backround saying things... I wish I was making this up but I seriously do hear one.

So right now, Im having her try to sleep (she still hasn't gotten much) and sometimes this... girl ghost I guess tries to talk to me and trick me into waking her up. Anyways, before I heard Mrs.Excorcist here, there will low sounds coming from my phone everytime my friend tried to say something. Like a deathly moan. As a matter of fact Mrs.Excorcist is doing it right now- WILL YOU SHUTUP!

It doesn't so much scare me as it does annoy me. My friend on the other hand is a little freaked out (can't blame her). Anyways, I don't normally believe in ghost and tne likes, but uh.... four things can be happening. Ghost or Demon is being a nuisance. Im going crazy (wouldn't be surprised). My friend is making these noises (but what about the girl in the backround that sounds evil as hell when she talks?), or... is it possible to hack into phone calls and do this? I doubt it, but ghost aren't exactly a good theory either.





So, to defend my sanity (or prove my lack of it), my question to you all is simple. Have you ever had any super-natural things happen? Share your stories!

As for ghost stories: I've not a one. I don't believe in them to be honest. Though sometimes my mind does get a bit worked up and I can scare the hell out of myself in the right situations.

I never really believed in ghosts. My ex always tried to get me to watch those ghost tracker shows that try to find out paranormal stuff. It was always so hard to sit through it, but I guess it's stuff you gotta share with people. As for me, no ghosties in mah bedroom, or phone.

Speakers can sometimes pick up radio signals depending on how poorly they were manufactured. How old is your phone?

This happened to me a lot when I would stay up late and play Oblivion. I'd just be playing, and my BGM and everything would just cut out and someone would just start speaking. It scared me at first.

I find it creepier that you're listening to your friend sleep.

I'v done a similar thing [granted, it was a girlfriend and we were on skype when she'd fall asleep because she had recently moved]. But that was only for a few minutes when i'd call someone at her place to go close her laptop.

Don't believe in Ghosts, but definitely believe in demons... I am never living in Alaska.... I read how many disappearances there were in different places in Alaska, and I am not wanting to move to some place like that... You might want to see though if someone is tapping into your phone though. Unless its a cell phone. Then make a call to the company complaining of demons living inside your phone. You might get a refund! Or be put in a mental institution...

I believe in ghosts, and I believe in all manner of similar things.

However, until you get some more sleep, the booth of you, I can't really say I recognize anything.

The phone is probably a radio signal. Cognitive bias will make you think it's a ghost, especially if you're sleep deprived and paranoid, but odds are it's just a radio signal.

The wails you hear, on the other hand, are rather weird... I wouldn't quite rule out anything supernatural, but it might be something like an animal (ever hear a fox wailing? It's pretty [censored] up stuff).

Occam's Razor is your friend when you're running on sleepless fright and not much else.

IF, on the other hand, weird [censored] keeps happening for several days, you can start to think of other things. Until then you're just going to get yourself scared. Try to get your friend to have a more regular sleep cycle, though. That might help.

I do believe in ghosts as I think I saw the ghost of one of my family's deceased dogs one night.

edited: the phone (or phone line) itself could a problem as well, it potentially could have developed a short in it

I got this occasionally around 10 years ago. I was speaking to a friend on the phone and suddenly it cut and a couple was arguing over the phone. Something about one cheating the other. They couldn't hear me speaking, so I had some fun and listened to the whole conversation. Good times.

as it was already said, sleep more and regularly(both you and your friend) and all that stuff about the radio signals and all that everyone said.

about it being a demon or not... have you or your friend been experimenting with Ouija boards? tarot? horoscope? playing games with demons and such in them? other things? especially to prolonged periods of time. if the answer is yes, to any of those, then you best hope, and pray, that it is just your imagination.

Not surprisingly, most Ouija boards are just toys. It's doubtful they'd cause any substantial paranormal effects.

I'd go a little bit deeper into queries. Any connection with OTO or A:.A:. based groups would raise flags. Certain books, such as Liber 777, might imply an occult past in your friend over there. Even then, I'd doubt this would be the cause of any problems unless they specifically participated in rituals from these two groups.

Stuff you find in the Clavicles of Solomon, on the other hand, would be far more dangerous by nature. I remember the last time someone made a thread like this on this website and I replied, they had mentioned a name of a demon from the Lesser Key of Solomon, and specifically the Ars Goetia. Not a good thing. I still doubt there would actually be a full on haunting given the fact that most people aren't going off and contacting demons on their own, but hey, you never know.

Overall, this sounds like someone being paranoid, not some actual involvement with the occult or supernatural forces.

i disagree. it's better to leave it than i guess. they can though, depending on the person. i'd like to think that all people who said they had rather nasty consequences from Ouija boards, i'd like to think they were honest in their testimonies.

i don't think it matters how deep or not deep it goes or went; the fact that anything of that kind was contacted shows some kind of interest, and frankly, there not needs to be a fully open door, a crack is enough. as long as it is let in, it will grow from there. remember the beach head strategy? same thing here.

After reading through what you folks have posted, I started to feel a bit less horrified by the noises. Anyways, just now the noises came out of the phone again, exactly as they were yesterday, with the exact amount of time in between, at the exact time it happened, so... I think it's safe to rule out ghost and demons dude! Anyways, thank you folks for saving the two of us a weeks worth of pissing our pants before we figured out what was what.
