Same here, I gave a prisoner some pretty decent armor and a glass sword and he ended up running away without even helping me fight

Same. I dumped like 150 pounds of stuff on one prisoner after killing off his Thalmor guards (I gave him a full set of steel armor, a sword, a shield, and some food for RP purposes) and he just runs away wearing his rags like some idiot. The funniest part was that he spouted the same line over and over: "Next Imperial I see is dead" without stopping to consider that the guy who just freed his ass (ME) was wearing a full set of Imperial armor (+ Horse Crest Imperial Helmet) and was labeled as an Imperial in race.

I butchered him afterwards for insulting me with that line.
