Why is there still no "FIX" upcoming for all of the problems with this game? After all of the complaints and things I read about on this game Bethesda and their associates still won't provide a "PATCH" that will fix all of the problems with game play and some of the achievements that "FAIL" even when completed. It seems that I wasted lots of my hard earned money for a majorly problem ridden game that the makers fail to fix or patch as requested by MANY players with similar problems.

Gorath the Elder - don't you ever get tired of roaming around telling others what to do when your incapable of actually helping them. In so many other threads where people have provided dxdiag's you don't even care to look through it. Besides even if they provided the dxdiag and msinfo there still exists no solution and all that remains is guesswork that hardly ever work.

i don't wanna attack you, so sorry if my words may seem rough (its not my mothers tongue) but just think about all the different pc settings, components used and so on, compared to a x360/ PS3 there are more than 100 ways to cause a cdt. some users reported that it finally worked fine for them, some say it broke more than it cured. its not helpful to you or to the patchers, to walk up the walls. just give them time to work, so the finish will be better than a half hearted "try" thats called patch.

Is this NOT the PC Issues forum? I am playing this game on a PC and NOT on an XBOX. Besides this, I notice that you have only been a member only since August of this year. I had to register a second time under this current user name because I forgot to update my previous user name after I changed my ISP and could no longer access the prior email account for the update. As far as this being the correct forum to express my discontent with the never ending problems I have with this game simply let me know exactly where I SHOULD go to express them? BTW ..... My previous user name was just Dragon_007 and I joined way back when Morrowind was the new game. Exactly how long have you been here? My problems are not unique to only me but many others here as well so why not try to be more forthcoming with some real advice and not just rant away at everyone.
Some of the achievements need fixed such as 'The Legend Of the Star' and 'They Went That Away' and a few others too.

You may want to try a codec reset (there is a tool on newvegasnexus.com for that - if you can't find it I'll look for the link) since people have had problems with the Nero codecs specifically. You may also have better perofrmance with the slightly newer nVidia driver - although that has been 50/50 for people it seems. Some get better and some get worse performance.

There is also the d3d9.dll fix (also on newvegasnexus.com) but again that is something that people have either had great results or terrible results with. It's worth giving a try though and if your performance is not better with it then simply delete it.

Here are some things for you to try (after every step, start the game and see if the problems persist. If they do, go to the next step):

1) It seems you have installed quite a lot of virtual drives. Try removing these and uninstall the program you are using for this (Demon Tools etc.)

2) uninstall Nero, and make sure to get everything out of the system (see link http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1144789-never-got-past-cdt-on-start-up/page__pid__16740300__st__0&#entry16740300)

3) Unistall codecs from add/remove programs in the control panel

4) Do the codec reset as mentioned above ( http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35868 )

5) Do a clean boot ( http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310353 )

When you have done all of the above, and the game is still not running, come back here and post an updated DXdiag.

Also post any crash dumps. Because those will be useful for trouble shooting.
